2017 Raptor deer strike

I hit my second deer with a Raptor last night. Years ago the first one went under the truck with no damage. This one I was not as lucky.

I was riding up rt. 9 to Harper’s Ferry years ago. THere’s a twisty section that snakes through a hilly section, just 2 lanes. The other side was stopped, with a bunch of vehicles and we were all thinking ‘what the heck’.. then we saw why. A large deer had bound from the elevated hill, right into the windshield of a minivan, the carcass was embedded impossibly in the front seats with only a couple hooves sticking out and probably more blood than I’ve seen in one place.

Long as nobody was hurt, the rest can be fixed.

How fast were you going when you hit it?

I was traveling about 65, probably slowed down to 50 when i hit it. It smashed the radiator and the truck immediately began overheating.

Yeah,little F&@#er's usually like to take a flying leap before impact...!! Have had 2 land on top of my Tacoma hood... $4K one time/$5K second time....

Damn Kamikaze Deer! That hurts just looking at it.
