ONE OTHER possibly related item, on my 2014 the auto AC levels seem not to work as well. As an example, if I get in the truck on a hot 98 degree day, I turn on the truck and the auto setting is on, set at 69 or 70 degrees, the air barely blows. I have to crank it down to LO to get it to come out hard and cool the truck down. It seemed like my 13 would handle this automatically. Anyone else notice this?

My 2014 does the same thing and it bugs the crap out of me, when I get in a hot truck I want it to blow hard right away. MY 2010 and 2013 both went full bore right away on when the AC was on AUTO so I don't know why the hell they changed it for 2014.

Thanks...I guess its good to know that it isnt something broken on my truck on either issue (loud fan or AC auto thermostat) but both of those issues are really annoying.

My 13's are super loud as well. Everyone comments on them.

I got my 13' used with 87 miles on it last summer. I never noticed any fan noise. I noticed about the same time that the thermostat was always showing it running hot. It had two blown 50 amp fuses that power the fans. So if you don't hear any super loud noise, you may want to check the fuses...

The remote start does a pretty good job cooling it down. Then when I get in, I just hit the "Max Cool" button and it automatically sets everything as cold as it gets. Then when it's comfy I hit "Max Cool" again to toggle it off and it goes back to maintaining the temperature I set it at.

Concerning the AC, look at the pressure line. My 2011's AC pressure line (the one that's 3/4 inch OD) was uninsulated along most of its length, and only thinly insulated for 5 or 6 inches. I fully insulated the full length with rubber AC insulation from Lowes, and my AC now produces noticeably colder air. The difference is remarkable.

The pressure line on your home AC is insulated against only ambient air temperature, right? Why does Ford scrimp on 50 cents worth of insulation when under-hood temps beggar ambient air temps? Dumb.
