I think that Navteq is the company providing the map data. Maybe check with them? They sell update DVD's, so it seems like they might be able to sell you a DVD for your area if they have data there (they claim 100% coverage of Oman).

I'm in Mexico and checked their online map before ordering to verify that they had decent data for my area. Their online map matches the map in my 2012 GPS exactly.

Go into their "Map Reporter" to see detailed maps of their coverage area.
