Do you really mean it when you say there are no Dodge Terodactyls or Chevy Triceratops?...Next thing you're gonna tell me is that there is no Santa Claus...Makes me sad ;o(

Well there's a chia-pet version of the Dodge Terodactyl lol. You can buy their aftermarket kit, add water, and make your own ram runner raptor style truck. But thats a far cry from a factory equivalent to the almighty Raptor! haha

It's when the order is pulled for scheduling, not when it's accepted in the order bank, otherwise guys who cancel their orders would leave all kinds of skipped numbers. Once it's pulled for scheduling there's no going back, it's getting built no matter what, and there's no skipped #'s. Now as for the actual order they roll off the assembly line apparently that can vary. Mine ending in 71582 may roll off after 71581 or it may roll off after 71583 from what guys have said.

What is interesting though is I was order #1 in Randy's system, but he had 7 vin's pulled today. All ordered after my truck, but some got lower VIN#'s some got higher VIN#'s. Not that I care at all, we all got VIN#'s at the same time, so that doesnt make any difference to me (well maybe if I was hoping for an ultra low build #, but 3 months into production it won't much matter lol). It's just interesting. I'm curious how they do it (hey I'm an engineer and always curious how stuff works lol). Since we were all priority 1 does the order they were ordered in not make any difference? Is ford building them in batches of the same color? Similar configurations? Random order? Just curious thats all lol. Their convoluted system is fascinating haha.

alot of you fail to realize that these are being delayed for a reason! you want ford to send you a raptor then 2 or 3 months later a problem comes up and then you want a lemon case. If someone can back this up all the delays are due to the nav electronic option. These units are either back logged with short supply of parts or software issues that are not available yet. Ford has taken a bit hit in the initial quality in the recent survey and I believe all are somehow related to the sync system. One thing I did see from my own research all the 2012 raptors out there that are at dealerships or have been purchased do not have the nav system. Anyone want to chime in?

the delay would be valid if there was a material hold or a quality hold, but there isn't. There's no hold on nav or paint like during the tsunami, there's no hold on quality like last year with the body control modules, production is in full swing, no restrictions, and Ford has built trucks with every option.

So in that case, with NO material holds and NO quality holds, it is still a load of BS that guys who pre-ordered are stuck waiting.
