I was hit in a parking lot a few years ago requiring a new drivers side bed.  They body shop asked me to leave the decal off for a couple days to ensure the paint was good.  That was fine because I thought it was may want to go without.  Driving it for 2 days with no sticker was enough.  Both my wife and I agreed the sticker needed to go back on.  it just didn't look right.
