I have always said engineers should have to work on and use the product they want to design. Same thing for architects, they need to build something before pencil touches paper. Too much schooling and not enough practical experience.
Happy to help, you want to kill some time? Go wander around that site, most is aimed at lumbering commercial trucks, but there is some good info buried there.
This long A$# post is from the 2022 Ford Body Builders Layout Book.

The following recommendations should be heeded to maintain proper function and performance of the vehicle frame: • Use existing holes in the frame whenever possible. • Holes are not to...
Years ago my gen 1 did that to me while target shooting in the desert. It sat there happily running with the doors locked, and yes I also hadn't memorized the door code. A two mile walk to the house to get the wife's keys got me back in. So yeah, this isn't something new.
Surprisingly NV is one of the worst regarding reg cost, (probably because of being near CA) $500.00 is average across my fleet. But, we don't have any income tax...so there's that.
Here ya go, seemed like a good idea in that it tied the jack to the truck (There was some way to attach the T lift to the jack) , so the typical swaying of the Hi Lift was eliminated / reduced.
There used to be an outfit that made a thing called a "T" lift that engaged the tow hooks and made the high lift a viable option, in that it was pretty safe, one of OG's here has to remember it. i even think one of the vendors here made a knock off. if I can find a pic i will post it.
I don't understand why someone would try to "make" a Raptor. If you are building something, just skip stock and go aftermarket, because if you are like the crowd I run with, you will be running beyond a stock Raptor very quickly. The backstory.....
I had a Gen 1 that was soon being outran by all...
Welcome, don't see what's ugly there, looks good to me. I have an ATV background as well (Honda 250R)- so yeah- these trucks are quite a ride over the rough stuff- With A/C and no bugs in your teeth to boot.
Welcome. From someone who has ordered 3 vehicles from Ford- Reality is October is 4 months away. Perception is it's 500 months away. Time will slow to a crawl...but it will be worth it.
Welcome to the site, lots of good info here, and we have a few trolls to keep things interesting.
If you have a gen II it's the self destruct switch for the transmission.
(not starting a flame war, just being a smart ass)
For Gen I it's what causes parts to appear on your ft porch and your wallet to spontaneously empty.
As previously mentioned, most Raptors never see dirt, which is fine by me- it's your truck. But for me, what I buy I use as intended. So my Raptor saw it's share of dirt. You say your are not a dirt guy, so why deal with the width issues of the Raptor? Get the "pavement" F150 .
X 2 for the PJ. I got a bumper pull. 102 wide, 20' deck, drive over fenders, brakes on both axles. PJ is more $$ than others, but the finish and overall quality is great.
