Looking at a Gen 1 with Tuned Air Intake

The plan would be to keep it but you never know. The Raptor wasn't even on my radar. I was looking at other trucks but every time would look at reviews or anything it always came back with the engine was only good till X miles and then it starts to have these major issues. I happened to see a...

Looking at a Gen 1 with Tuned Air Intake

Yeah, I had a 23 Bronco Badlands and sold it for the Gladiator. I was following the Ranger Raptor build series on Exodus 4x4 youtube channel. They put portal axles on it. It definitely looks a sweet truck and even Exodus 4x4 who mainly builds jeeps but they sold their shop built Bronco for the...

Looking at a Gen 1 with Tuned Air Intake

I grew on the Central Coast in Cali but never been to the Rubicon so it will be my first time but my friends that I am going with have been a few times. Here is a couple pics from Wolf Caves. I went with BroncBuster who makes tons of aftermarket parts for the Ford Bronco. His Bronco I believe is...

Looking at a Gen 1 with Tuned Air Intake

They are asking $23K for this one. It appears to be pretty stock minus the rims and I believe it had a K&N Air filter or at least it had the sticker on the box. Since I don't actually need one and just want one I am trying to stay in the low $20K which seems to put me in the higher mileage area...

Looking at a Gen 1 with Tuned Air Intake

Usually go to Wolf Caves, Hidden Falls Adventure Park or GSL Ranch. I have a trip planned in July to head out to the Rubicon Trail. I found this one and went and test drove it. Despite the high mileage it is in excellent condition. According to the carfax it had been maintained with regular oil...

Looking at a Gen 1 with Tuned Air Intake

I have 1 ton UD60 axles and it still has the stock motor but it is the 3.0L EcoDiesel so it has plenty of power.

Looking at a Gen 1 with Tuned Air Intake

Replace all 4 tires which is a chore in and of itself 42x13.5R20. I upgraded the hydraulic steering ram to a larger one that could handle the larger tires, replaced the drag link bar as I had bent the old, replaced the ball joints with American Iron Ball Joint Deletes, install Metal Cloak full...

Looking at a Gen 1 with Tuned Air Intake

Thanks, little more than I wanted to spend. Just looking for a fun truck to drive while I was rebuilding my Gladiator. I am going to probably hold off for now. I have tried to buy 3 and all have fallen through for one reason or another. Probably just going to focus on finishing my Gladiator and...

Looking at a Gen 1 with Tuned Air Intake

The issue I had with the rust was it was not just surface rust it was pretty bad cancerous rust and if it was that bad on the outside I can't image what it was like on the inside of the frame. If it was just surface rust I would have been fine.

Looking at a Gen 1 with Tuned Air Intake

Thanks for the help, unfortunately after a 3 hour drive I didn't end up getting it. The body and interior were in great shape but that's about where it ends. The dealer of course told me it was in excellent condition and ready to go. On the test drive it was shifting pretty hard, when I put into...

Looking at a Gen 1 with Tuned Air Intake

Thanks, the reliability of the 6.2L is why I am looking at it. The extra mods done to it I don't particular care about. Just want to make sure I know what I am getting. Gen 1 Raptors are hard to find around here and when they do come up they don't last long. This is one is 3 hours away.

Looking at a Gen 1 with Tuned Air Intake

Thanks, I don't see any difference either. If I do get it I might take it to the local ford dealership and see if they can check the ecu and flash it back to stock if needed and I can retune it if needed. I called and talked to JLT and they said they have this one which requires a tune and their...

Looking at a Gen 1 with Tuned Air Intake

That's what I thought. I just happened to look up the cold air intake to see if it was a decent one or not but this one very specifically states to not drive the truck until it has been tuned. It's not at a Ford Dealership so I don't think they would even be able to flash it back to stock nor...

Looking at a Gen 1 with Tuned Air Intake

I have been looking for a Gen 1 Raptor for a little while. I found this 2012 Raptor with 112K miles on it. I am going to look at it tomorrow. It is at a dealership so I don't know how much information they will have but when I looked up the air intake that is on it JTL it says it requires an...
