Glad I was able to find this thread. I have a 2022 experiencing the exact same issues. Today, coming to a stop, a loud clunk was heard. It sounded just like how many of you have described as something slamming in the bed of the truck or tire exploding. This is the second time it’s happened and...
Ok Good to know but I think what you had going on is different. I can hear mine actuating during idling after the initial first cold start of the day. I have no noise when I tap the throttle. It honestly sounds like it’s engaging/disengaging then I hear nothing else after it idles down. I may...
So I looked at both actuators when the truck idols after cold start and they both make the same noise simultaneously. How long ago did they replace em for you? According to the TSB that ford revised a couple months ago, it states unless there is DTC codes that say to replace the turbos and shows...
Sounds good. I’m curious of your outcome and if your dealer says something different. Based off the TSB that FORD came out with they are telling FORD service to not replace the turbos unless it’s called for in diagnostic findings. Wish you the best and keep us posted.
So for everyone interested. I went by the dealership today and all is normal with the turbo and waste gates. No need to be alarmed by the waste gates noises while they actuate upon cold starts. Pic attached.
Ok. Haven’t noticed mine doing it up until recently as I use the remote start a lot in the mornings. After looking today I think the clicking we are hearing is the turbo waste gate actuators cycling through. They don’t do it near as much when the truck is warm but on cold starts it’s just part...
I
I’m pretty sure they are the turbo waste gate actuators. The only exhaust valves I am aware of are the ones just past the muffler that control exhaust tone. Honestly I don’t think it’s anything to worry about and it’s functioning properly. A few people now have mentioned they get this noise...
Thanks man. I’m active duty military and have been itching to get out of CA. This place is a shit hole. Anyways.. so after reading your last comment I went out opened the hood and started the truck. I pinned point the noise down to the driver side turbo assembly. If you look at it why the truck...
Yep sounds identical to mine. No issues with the A/C yet though. Wonder if it could be signs of something failing. I’ll be out of town until the end of May so won’t be able to bring mine in until then. I’m moving to Florida in June so if it is something relating to the A/C I will need to get...
Same. I have 2022 that I purchased with 5K miles. I have it now for about 18 months and just hit 11K and started noticing it about 3 weeks ago. Like you, it doesn’t effect anything and is more of an annoyance because I can’t for the life of me figure out what the hell it is. I’ve tried to search...
Ok good to know. Has it done it since day one or was it something that developed over time? I swear i just recently started noticing this about two weeks ago.
Could be. I was reading a thread with someone’s 1st gen that seems to be experiencing the same thing. There hunch was something to possibly do with a/c compressor.
I’ve just recently started to notice this noise after cold starts and occasionally after starting when the truck is warm. The noise is better defined after cold starts though. Any help would be great.
Just wanted to pass an update. Squeak was solved by replacing the exhaust actuators and springs. I also had a TSB performed for the pro power onboard. From what I know, a few components on the generator were causing the module that communicates with TPMS and key fob to malfunction. Issue was...
I can only get this squeak to replicate when the exhaust is set to the Baja setting and the engine is up to temp. It’s driving me nuts man. It’s at the dealer now. The service rep is certain by replacing the exhaust actuators and springs it should solve the problem.
But no. Never hear it on...
did your squeak sound like this? I may be having the same issue but service rep I’m working with is convinced it has something to do with the exhaust.
Did your squeak sound like this? My service rep that I’m working with currently on my squeak issue is convinced it’s the exhaust.
Hey everyone. New issue arose today. I noticed a slight squeak this morning while pressing and letting of the accelerator. Noticed it only happens when the exhaust is set to Baja and when taken out and placed into normal mode it does not happen. I’m attaching a video to see if this has happened...
Hey everyone sorry delaying on this response. I was deployed for about 30 days as I am active duty. Took it to the dealer the next day after my first original post. Tech ran a diagnostic and no codes were discovered. Found to be a loose battery connection. All is well since.
