rear main seal leaking again after Ford warranty repair - could the oil pan be part of the problem?

I can't completely rule what you say out but two different Ford dealerships and an independent I have used for years would have all had to make sloppy oil changes.

rear main seal leaking again after Ford warranty repair - could the oil pan be part of the problem?

Pretty sure it's not a sloppy oil change. One messy one I could believe but not three in a row.

rear main seal leaking again after Ford warranty repair - could the oil pan be part of the problem?

At 14,000 miles an inspection during an oil change on the road at a Ford dealership showed oil leaking in the skid plate area. They told me they thought the oil pan might be leaking and when I got back home to Colorado to have my local dealer look at it. At 17,000 miles my closest Ford...

Can't be normal: Transmission makes loud hard shifts

I have put 500-600 miles on it in normal mode since I noticed the very hard shifts in sport mode. No issue over those miles in normal mode. Since I really need the room and comfort my pickup affords, I will be gambling taking it on a 2400 miles road trip starting this Sunday. I've got an...

Can't be normal: Transmission makes loud hard shifts

Thanks guys for the replies which all seem to say it's an adaptive/learning issue. Does anyone here think my transmission is failing? I need to use it on a mandatory road trip soon and don't have time to take it to a Ford dealership.

Can't be normal: Transmission makes loud hard shifts

I have a 2023 Raptor with 15,000 miles on it. I bought it new so it is still under warranty. I did a search but could not find a topic like this one. On a recent long road trip (2000 miles roundtrip) I noticed a number of uncharacteristic jerky downshifts when coming to a stop. Normal...

Finally pulled the trigger 2023 code orange 37 package

Love Code Orange. I've got a 35" 2023. Good luck with your 2024 truck.

Our Expedition broke for the last time. Will a Raptor be better?

I had a 2019 Raptor for two years that I put 32,000 miles on with no issues. I now have a 2023 Raptor with 11,000 miles I bought one year ago also with no issues. IMO in general a lot of people join forums mostly to complain (excluding us car/truck people who just love sharing our...

    A good deal?

Same as yours I have a 23 with in Code Orange with the same wheels. Needless to say it looks great.

How can I darken the color of my truck's paint ?

Although expensive you might investigate wrapping your Raptor in paint protection film (PPF). Different colors are available I believe.

What did you do to your Gen 3 today?

After owning my 23 Raptor in Code Orange for 11 months, I decided to ceramic coat it myself using C-Quartz. It has just over 10,000 miles on it. Ultimately it took one wash, then extensive tar removal, then a second wash and then it was necessary to clay bar it. About 18 hours of prep...

    New 24 In Dallas

There are two advantages to black. One is that a Raptor is beautiful in black when clean, the second is that you now have a new part time job keeping it that way. Enjoy!

    Pulled the trigger!!

Unfortunately there isn't a way to avoid I-70 on the way back to Denver unless you have another 3 hours to burn by taking 61N to 36W into CO. It's especially busy between St. Louis and KC. Lots of rocks get thrown and windshields and paint chipped. Ask me how I know! I've made the trip...

Would You Buy a 2024 Raptor Without Sunroof?

I was the opposite of you. I bought one (and paid extra for) the moonroof which I did not want to get the color (Code Orange) I did want. I rarely use the moonroof either forgetting I have it or closing it to avoid the heat or sunlight in my eyes.

Just picked up my new Raptor

I had a 2019 that I sold a few years ago which I should have kept longer. After regretting selling it I picked up a 2023 in Code Orange last June. The 2023 is a noticeable improvement in ride comfort and low end power. Nice improvements with the screen and interior as well. The B&O system...

    From Porsche 911 to Raptor

Welcome. I've had three different 911's and two Raptors. Truthfully I have more fun in my 2023 CO Raptor. Too many crappy roads where I live and so I worry about damaging the undercarriage or wheels on a low slung car I still have a Boxster Spyder which I enjoy driving (carefully) on the...

    Mud Flaps - should I / should I not?

Ground clearance is noticeably reduced with mud flaps. Presumably higher than average truck ground clearance is desired by most Raptor owners so flaps can be self defeating. I chose to have paint protection film (PPF) put on my rockers and part of the way up my doors to help with rock chips. .

Heated Steering option to be installed by dealer at no extra cost to customers!

I called my Ford dealer (Interstate Ford in Dacono, CO). I gave him the service action reference #13033 and he could not find it in their system. My truck was built this April 23rd. I'm wanting to know why March 29th is the production cut off date for the wheel retro fit. Does anyone here...

    Husky Rear Wheel Liner

Does anyone here know why March 29th, 2023 is the production cut off date for the heated steering wheel retro fit? My Raptor was built 4-23 so I am wondering why it does not qualify.

RAM 1500 TRX dead after MY2024

It seems plausible to me that at least a substantial portion of the extra $30k increase in the last edition TRX can be justified in Stellantis's mind by what Raptor R's are selling for.

    Octane Poll

I'm in the mountains in Colorado. Due to the high elevation octane is lower by 2 points. I use the highest that's available which is often only 89. Gas costs more up high too. 87 = 85 here 89 = 87 here 93 = 91 here

    New to me Gen 2

Congratulations to you and welcome to the forum. I bought my second Raptor (2023) two months ago after selling my 2019 back in 2021 (a mistake). I think Raptor's are the best pickup on the market far and away, unless you are regularly towing heavy loads and need a HD truck.
