Mine does not disable until you restart. It just disables you briefly (maybe a minute or so) and then you can turn it back on.

I'm using the HD bracket from SPV. It says it can support the LP6s but I threw on LP4s and decided I liked it. LP9s and LP6s going on the front bumper in a few weeks.

What is the current protection you have in the picture? I'm looking for something similar for my dogs.
