This is a really interesting modification. My biggest issue with the Raptor transfer case is that I need it most when accelerating while making a turn. Can't use 4H because of binding, and accelerating in 2H goes nowhere if the road is even slightly damp. Had several "oh shit!" moments trying...
Thanks all. I just replaced mine with Mercon LV. Since the trans, power steering and TC currently all specify Mercon LV, I figured it's more cost effective to just buy a bunch of 5 quart jugs. and keep then on hand. Beats having to purchase and store 3 different fluids.
While I have a Gen1, I'm 99.9% sure it fits yours as well. I checked Ford parts, the OEM cover is P/N: BL3Z-4033-C. This diff cover is listed as compatible for F150s from the 90s up to and including 2023 with the 9.75" axle.
While you're at it, pick up the lube locker gasket to make the...
To add another easy steering flush option if you have a Mityvac fluid extractor, I also removed the lower return hose, drained the fluid from the reservoir and plugged the port. I then filled it to the top with Mercon LV. It turns out that the lower return hose that connects to the reservoir...
I do the same. I actually do this with all of our cars, so all the maintenance is in one place. You can upload all of your receipts, and it sends you email reminders for upcoming services. Very convenient, especially if you own several vehicles.
I think they basically made it so that the dealer can make money on the service. There are some many stupid easy things that could have been done to make it more serviceable. For example, on the Mercedes 722.9 which has a similar pan and filter setup, there is a tube attached to the drain plug...
From what I understand, the 6R80 is sort of "sealed", in that it doesn't really vent to atmosphere. When you fill through the OEM plug with a hose or filler tool, air can flow out freely as you add fluid. My guess is that if you try to fill directly through a narrow-ish dipstick tube, the...
So I'm planning to service my TC soon. When looking online, it seems that the original XL-12 Transfer Case Fluid was discontinued, and now they are recommending Mercon LV. I distinctly recall in the past that everyone said NOT to use Mercon ATF fluid in the transfer case. Does anyone know...
It's basically these things.

It includes a replacement boot, resistor and spring conductor. The resistor pill in my case was stuck in the oil coil pack (albeit, I didn't work too hard trying to get it out since I bought new coils...
Possibly. Mine felt like it had an occasional miss at idle, but seemed fine otherwise. This was when I bought it last year with 68k.
Recently at 80k, I noticed a ticking sound coming from the driver side, so I decided to investigate. Came to find at least one of my coils occasionally arcing on...
Yup, I am one of his customers too. Anthony Callegari I think was his name. Really great dude with fantastic after sale customer service. He'll answer any questions you may have. Also, always great to deal with a US seller.
I know this is an old post, but I was wondering if you remembered the steps to activate the front camera. I just purchased a Sync 3 jailbroken unit that I'm going to install this week. The gentleman that I purchased it from said it was done by setting the rear camera delay function on, but he...
Yes, technically Vibrant advertises the 1142 as a resonator and the 1103 as a muffler, but from talking with their engineer, they share identical construction, and only differ in the overall size/volume. They both have the same 3" ID inlet and outlet to slip over your 3" OD piping, both are...
Just to throw another data point out there, I recently purchased a 2014 Raptor SCREW with the rear exit Roush exhaust, and the drone was unbearable. I was trying to figure out a cost effective solution and see what I could do with basic hand tools, and I may have found the answer.
Roush uses...
