I put an LS6 in my 2012 Jeep JKU. Awesome conversion, but cost me 25,000 smackers (13,500 for the junker engine and L1680 tranny with 13k miles alone). Nothing in Moab could stop it with 4:88 gears, lockers front & back. It was a bitch to get in and set up correctly, but man, was it awesome...

Top line Alpine 5 channel amp, Focal speakers all around, a JL Audio sub, damping material and the requisite electronic modules did it for me. Concert hall sound for around $3000 plus a little. Still use the factory head unit but you could replace that too for even better results.

The Raptor straight from the factory is pretty awesome as it is, and everybody wants more power. Contact the guys at Gearhead in Bryan, Texas. They have an awesome tune for the Raptor. I run it on my Gen 2 with 37's and have much better performance than stock with 35's.

I went through the same in 2016 when I sold my tree farm and thought I had no more use for my 2010 Gen 1 Raptor. I still went to Arizona/Utah once or twice/year, but not enough offroad to justify the Raptor only as a DD. Little did I know my mind was playing...
