The auto climate control in the Gen 14 trucks sucks. I had the same issues in my 2021 King Ranch Powerboost. The climate control in my 2016 and 2018 F150s worked MUCH better, as in I could 'set it and forget it'.
I had a BakFlip MX4 on my 2016 F150 Lariat and used it on my 2018 F150 Lariat as well. Sold it with that truck. On my 2021 F150 Powerboost I put an Undercover Armorflex on. VERY similar to the MX4 but just better engineered. When completely open, it's vertical instead of leaning on the back...
