Should have set the ebrake so the red brake lights were not interfering. Doh!

Backup lights that dont ruin backup camera visibility

Yes, takes ten minutes to swap them out. I'm not much of a photographer, but jumped in the truck and took one for you. My driveway is at least 75ft long for ref. It's not like having a light bar, but I see really well when backing at night on a long driveway. Hth.

I live on acreage with a super long driveway as well. Installed these and brightened things up plenty: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BLNM954J/?tag=fordraptorforum-20

    ISO 2013-2014 Raptor in Texas

Looking for a black or terrain first gen Screw Raptor, I'm located in Central Texas. I prefer a factory Roush truck, but am open to others. Main thing I am after is one that is clean, with absolutely zero rust. Should not be hard to come by in my area, but thought it should be noted. Willing to...

Gen 3 to Gen 1 consideration

I don't really disagree with you on the merits of the gen 2 and 3's. But they are not the original's. They are both still riding the depreciation curve. The gen 1 might still be, but if so does not have far to go. Nostalgia and supply/demand is a thing. It might be all for not before either of...

    SVT License Plate Frames

A Terminator Cobra is on my list of cars I would like to own. They came out while I was in College, no way I could swing one. I probably should have bought one a few years ago, values have shot up on them recently.

Gen 3 to Gen 1 consideration

@FordTechOne I own and daily drive a gen 3, so have only ever used those forums until now. I have always enjoyed you as a poster, and value your opinion. I think you might be getting a little fired up on this first gen thread though. I've never indicated the Gen 1 is the better truck. I also...

Dealer increased price after waiting 16 months?!

They do pay the price it was when it was ordered. When it didnt get built, Ford made the dealer put in another order at the next model years pricing. ADM is BS, but you agreed to that before. Other than the ADM, the dealer isnt ******** you. It's Ford that is sticking it to you.

Have gen2s become that cheap ???

That seems well under market value. It does appear you can get a nice one in the mid to upper 40's though. Almost half the price of a 3rd gen. 1st gen pricing is holding pretty strong, and not far from the 2nd gen pricing for like mileage trucks.

    Trade in value drop

I agree the market will normalize. But I'm not sure R's will be 30k off. Raptors in general have never had to be marked down much from MSRP. The ADM crap will stop, and is already slowing. Hope you are right though, I would love to buy an R for 80k!!!

    Performance Oil Filter

I would echo some of what has already been said. For these specific motors, it's most important to change the oil at closer intervals. Plenty of motors can go 10k plus mile OCI's easily, and the oil analysis shows it. The 3.5 boost shears oil, and is terribly hard on it. If you are looking at...

    Trade in value drop

What these manufacturers say they want to do and what happens, will be two different things. Has a single person learned what a liability "just in time" inventory systems are? Running inventory that close is incredibly challenging, and I can promise you they are not capable of doing it. Assuming...

    Trade in value drop

I have noticed some pretty attractive pricing on the gen2 Raptors recently, seems like 50k can buy a very nice one

Gen 3 to Gen 1 consideration

Everything you just explained was exactly what I thought and was trying to convey, apologize for hacking it up. The allocation I was talking about was what Ford allocated directly to Roush to upfit. It ended up being 450 for 2014 to my understanding. This is pretty much exactly the same way the...

Gen 3 to Gen 1 consideration

Haha! My understanding is ford allocated a certain number of Raptors to Roush to upfit. They were numbered. In 2014 what I can find is about 200 of them were allocated from ford. You could buy a brand new one from a ford dealership that was roush authorized, obviously without the factory...

Gen 3 to Gen 1 consideration

This is where we differ. I think the first gen Raptors are like a Countach, as far as present and future desirability. I can guarantee you many more people have lusted over a first gen than the Countach. Give me a first gen factory roush Raptor any day over an 80 Lambo. What would I do with one...

Gen 3 to Gen 1 consideration

Haha! Thanks for your service nomad! I think we are exactly alike, to be honest. I'm not into cars for money reasons at all, they just get my blood flowing. The money side of it is just how I think when looking for my next change of underwear. I would feel like a ******* if I was buying and...

Gen 3 to Gen 1 consideration

I've seen and heard some of the general rules of thumb. I remember hearing years ago the consensus was to buy them at 2 years old and own them a long time. On the financial advice side it seems like you hear to buy used and drive for ten or more years. I don't subscribe to that idea, but...

Gen 3 to Gen 1 consideration

I'm a car guy, and swap rides pretty often. Three-four years is about as long as I've owned a vehicle. I'm a financial advisor, so I try to manage the cost of my hobby. Guess there is some horse trader in my blood as well. My previous DD was a 2015 5.0 4x4 platinum F150, paid 34 for it and drove...

Gen 3 to Gen 1 consideration

Always thought the gen 1's were cool. Good friend had a taliban tan 2014 he bought new. I prefer V8's to 6's, but the boost is a great engine. Seems like a factory roush package gen 1 is more of a super truck. Perhaps I'm just bored. Maybe I'll wait for an R allocation to come my way
