Looking to do a roof mounted light bar on my 2nd gen. Who's got one? Any consensus on the best design?
How was the install, and how did you route the wiring down the A pillar?
Has anyone replaced the OEM fuel pump on a second gen truck? I bought the Daetschworks 415lph pump, but the instructions they provide are for a Mustang and the entire fuel pump assembly in my 2018 looks completely different. There doesn't seem to be a way to disassemble the plastic "basket"...
I have the Garrett Powermax turbos and the AMS inlet tubes. For those who aren't aware, the Powermax turbos ship with two sets of inlet adapters - one set will work with the OEM size inlet tubes that have a roughly 1.75" opening, and the other set is sized for a 2.75" silicone coupler.
The...
At this point you're pretty much finished - the rest is simple reassembly of the various components you removed. I zip tied the remaining harness to the JMS unit making sure the connectors weren't strained on either end.
The last connection to be made is to ground. JMS ships this unit with...
Once you have the FPDM harness completed, you can move on to to throttle pedal activation harness. The best way to route this is underneath the sill plate where there's a convenient wire tunnel.
Remove the sill plate first.
Then remove the trim surrounding the hood release.
You do NOT...
On supercab trucks, there's an air vent directly behind the audio processing module located behind the rear seat on the driver's side. There's also enough room to locate the unit itself in this space, and, a factory grounding point within 24" making it a great spot. It also doesn't impact your...
GooseTuned says I need the JMS FuelMax to go any further with the truck and I noticed there was only one installation thread, and it was for crew cab trucks, so I figured I should add another.
My truck is a 2018 supercab with the following performance mods:
Fresh OEM long block with 1,500...
I have the Full Race manifolds on the black ceramic and they're fantastic.
Dealer put them on along with my Powermax turbos as part of a long block replacement (broken driver's side timing chain), and I've been driving it for about 3 weeks now.
Power and spool is incredible although it's hard...
I have a set with the black ceramic coating that are being installed along with my Powermax turbos, on a new long block. Should have it ready in about 2-3 weeks.
I like the flex sections. But, why not make the passenger side equal length? I think you'd sell A LOT more downpipes if it also made the exhaust note sound better. There is power to be had in the downpipes, yes, but the majority of Raptor owners are avoiding touching the exhaust at all...
Does anyone know if the SDI system can work with the fronts only? I have a bed cage system in the rear of my 2018 with bypasses, but better control over the fronts sounds like a good idea.
You want the exhaust pulses on both sides of the cylinder bank occurring at an even interval. Nearly all exhaust systems merge the two together at some point along the way, whether by combining two pipes into one or using a dual entry muffler where the two streams get crossed internally.
You...
Mine hangs below the frame by enough that it scraped. There's enough room above that it could have been designed without dropping down at all, but I can understand that might have been an oversight given that so few Raptor guys actually off-road hard enough for that to be a potential problem...
I already have one of those. The problem is - it doesn't fit with any aftermarket exhaust system without modifications, for the most part. Especially not with Supercab trucks.
Also - the loop sits low to the ground and I've scraped it on the dunes hard enough to pull the clamp loose that...
Hey guys, in my efforts to research and design the best sounding exhaust system for our Ecoboost trucks I am on the search for an AFE equal length downpipe (passenger side). There are a few sites that carry them, but they're all out of stock and it looks like AFE is not producing them any...
I'll try to get clips posted over the next couple days.
It's loud, for sure, but the sound is amazing. It could be quieted down a bit with a larger/longer muffler with more packing material. But, getting the exhaust at an equal length and then merging it into one pulse seems to be exactly...
Update on my SPD install:
I have a supercab truck with the Stainless Works catted downpipes and dump style exhaust, which meant that nothing was going to bolt up into place without some modifications. With that in mind I decided to try something unique.
I am merging the two 3" outlets into...
FYI - I ordered a set of CRP manifolds and they told me the new design with proper clearances for the Garrett turbos will be available in October-ish. I told them I can wait for the new design since I was planning to do the turbos in late fall anyway. So, I may be one of the first to get it.
Sure thing. I'm going to have to do some fitting one way or the other because I have a Supercab truck, and, the Stainless Works dump style exhaust currently. Like everyone else I'm working to make the truck sound better but instead of trying to make it sound like a V8 I think it makes more...
Mine shipped today. I'm considering doing something totally different with the exhaust after it exits the SPD... like, merging both 3" pipes into a single 4" pipe with a straight through muffler and a simple turndown dump before the axle.
According to ADD, only their kit and potentially Full Race have been tested.
My Mountune didn't even come close.
Their AFE kit rubs the number on the intercooler tubing on both sides. It's a pretty terrible design considering it was supposedly made to fit their own bumper.
I'm probably...
We'll see. I think the Stainless Works dump system sounds pretty good so far. It's definitely grown on me, ESPECIALLY running around in Sport mode with my performance 93 tune and vented BOV. A lot of pops and high rev downshifts. I can't imagine the equal length pipe will make it sound...
