What if I want an extended warranty on my Tesla (never actually looked into it)? (Not a real question and yes I do have a Tesla too). The reality is the lack of ability to purchase my extended warranty from my preferred broker is making me think about registering out of state, not buy an EV...

Finally got the refund after a couple of phone calls and a few emails.

Very expensive. 6 years 100k miles $100 deductible was $1430 (including all lights) at Granger.

Granger still hasn’t refunded us our money despite not being able to sell us the extended warranty.

It took 2.5 months for Ford Capitol to fix the issue. It seems that the culprit was a defective motor (even though the wipers worked manually). They now function rather well.

For me that’d be in TX.

I guess Granger and others would need to get licensed in CA…

Thank you. Even though I can understand CA trying to protect people from scams and other fraudulent ways of collecting consumers information, I have a hard time understanding how it’d apply to someone voluntarily contacting a legit business to purchase a manufacturer backed product/service...

Looks like so far none of us has had any luck with this new law (which I can’t seem to find anywhere - but I didn’t look really hard).

Not could offer but would offer. They’re all trying to make as much as they can on every transaction except for the ones that work on volume.

Update: Granger replied and will refund us. It seems like there may be no valid options for CA residents. From their email:

Just followed your advice. It takes 3 business days to get a confirmation so hoping it goes through. From memory, they’re massively cheaper than what Flood or Zeigler were. I’d say close to $500 less.

Thank you for the replies. Just left a message at Flood. Will try Zeigler. I wish I’d known about the 3/1 cutoff. These regulations and changes are getting old. I did get my truck in TX and in about 14 months I have over 19k miles on it (2.5 months at the dealership… for auto wipers not working…...
