Does anybody have Carr steps, or any similar single steps on their Gen 1? I’m looking for something other than the shin killing factory running boards. Would like to see some pictures if anybody has something. Google was of no help. Thank you, Luke.
The Paddle Shifter kits for the 1st Gen Raptors(2011-14 with electronic shifting) are now ready. Website is now available to order here https://frostbitefabrication.bigcartel.com/
Here is the link to my installation video.
Thank you so much to everyone for their patience and cooperation. Have a...
I got all the parts ordered to build 3 kits to start with and then move forward from there. Unfortunately the price of everything has gone up significantly since I started this project last spring. Final price shouldn’t be much more but it will definitely be a little higher. I’m sorry about this...
It doesn’t modify the electronic shifting at all. It’s basically just adding and extra set of the + - buttons from the center console shifter on the steering wheel.
I’ve finally got all the parts sourced. If anybody is legitimately interested please let me know. I won’t ask for any payment until I have all the parts assembled and ready to ship to you. The top picture is the standard shifters. The bottom picture is the current ones I have. Other colors are...
How are people disabling the rear o2 sensors? I was told 5 star could do it, but I just got an email that my custom tune was denied because I requested that modification.
Once I get these last few pins figured out I’ll put up a dedicated “how to” post. The way I have this set up it really shouldn’t be too hard at all for people. Drill a few holes in the steering wheel to mount the paddles and plug in the wires and your good to go.
The paddle shifters I used are from BMW. I modified the pivot system as well as the circuit boards in them. I chose them because of the way they mount it doesn’t require extra machining of the base(steering wheel). As well they match the factory interior perfectly.
Nope, the way I have this designed the switches attach directly to the factory steering wheel via one bolt per switch. You do have to remove the steering wheel from the truck to mount them though, but that’s pretty quick and easy to do.
The pins I modified to work on the prototype harness. Note the missing chunk of the retainer clip. This was necessary because of the modified pins I made. These are the location of the pins I’m in search of. Most of the pins on Ford interior harness are a standard small square in shape. These...
To everyone waiting on the paddle shifters. I’ve sourced everything to start putting these together except one piece. I’m having a hell of a time finding the correct pins for the back of the SCCM. On the prototype I modified some different pins to make them work, but I’d really like to find the...
I’m tooling up to start producing these as DIY kits. I’m in the first gen Raptor Facebook group and there was a bunch of people there that requested me to make them as kits and sell them. With the exception of mounting the paddles to the wheel it will be mostly plug and play.
It could be done in a day pretty easily. Maybe 4-6 hours of actual work if you know what your doing. The only special tool I needed was an ohm tester to find my way through the clock spring and had to modify the boards slightly in the shifter switches. I’m trying to put together a kit for anyone...
Hey guys!! Just wanted to finally say Hi and stoked that I can finally joint the forum! I’ve been wanting a Raptor since the Raptor R prototype back in 2008 and finally picked up a 2014 a couple months ago!
