Design is different. The gen 2 flares are a bit flatter in design. The gen 3 flares are thicker as the fenders are slightly less wide on a gen 3. Just take a look in person. It will not work.
Will that cause some hesitation going into the next gear as well when it's cold? I have noticed that and also felt like I have not had full power for the first 20 seconds or so and then the boost kicks in a bit more but not so much turbo but the transmission giving me full access kind of...
Not yet. Doing some work still and haven’t figured out if I’m gonna keep the truck and go gen 3 or keep and go fiberglass bedsides. I have some more designs out but nothing finalized
Bringing this up as it just happened to me. MPT tune that has been on the truck for over a year, spark plugs were changed with stock motorcraft performance plugs back in September. Just did a road trip to Maine.
Wondering if I’m just having bad gas. It hasn’t done this until today.
Driving...
I have icons and icon perch collars. Springs are set to option 2 and I still have a decent amount of rake with roof Tent, Leitner rack, spare tire on bed about 300-400 pounds. And my collars are at max height. Plan to add longer shackles to drop the rear and maybe gain some up front with new...
This is why I like this forum. It’s good to get a pulse on various brands and know whom are doing a good job and those who aren’t.
I am still narrowing my list of vendors I plan to carry and this kind of information is helpful.
Could you share costs of kit minus installation? I may call HM for some information, just don't think they will sell unless they install and me being on the east coast that wouldn't work I may be mistaken however.
That does look good, could you do me a favor and measure from the hood to fender gap to the widest point of the fender? I can update the main post to add these numbers.
he talks about what he hears and claims he is an expert. its my problem with him he will shit on something even without any first hand experience u
only because some he respects said it.
Also, wanted to note that I do not consider myself an expert in this as I am still learning and figuring out all of the differences between various kits. My main concern is that this kit might be a bit too expert for someone that is looking to get into an entry level or mid level kit, like this...
Could you share a picture of your truck on the 40s? are you running the 94" Race or the 91" Mid? The picture you just showed is the 94" race with +4 McNeils. What is the cost for the kit minus install? Also I haven't spoken with HM but it looks like they may need to have the truck for...
Nice! That is the kit I will probably run. I've heard nothing but good things and have spoken to Doug about being a dealer for him at some point once my company goes live. He's super cordial and didn't mind chatting with me.
Keep us posted on your installation. The one thing I have thought about; I would rather find the right glass first and paint match then get the wrong size and then buy again and waste money on paint matching two sets which could get very expensive fast.
That's the hope for this thread, is to gather measurements from the hood gap to furthest point on all various fender models. Should help those who are wondering which backspacing, Mid or Long Travel kit and tires they plan to run.
To be honest, I am one of the most indecisive SOBs on this...
100% that has top spacers, which will overextend the lower ball joints on full droop FYI. Remove and get a Perch collar if you want to be leveled, or just remove.
