One thing this truck has been lacking is traction. Wheels off for final polish/detail decided to add some CalTracs as just too curious as what it would do with better traction 0-60, 1/8 mi and 1/4 mi.
With 150 hp less easy 4 seconds to 60.
This also shows the INCREDIBLE Baer 14” 6p brakes...
Past weekend took drive to Fab Fords show at Irwindale Raceway. Figured i would check long distance driving on a full load of fuel.
On way to CA from AZ ran into very heavy headwinds 75-80 mph and mpg suffered. Including 135 mi in California site seeing more stop n go traffic got 19.5 mpg. That...
See what you went and did!
About the time you mentioned bumpside a nice ‘68 F250 CamperSpecial followed me home! Really... now what?
It came with a very low mile but sitting since early ‘70’s 1969 GT 390 from a Mach1
Truck EXCEEDS 600 RWHP and the TQ oh my! 5th gear pulls and the PCM TQ management kicked in and was closing throttle. Clearly seen on the HPTuner software.
Thanks! I had a ‘70 Ranger XLT a few yrs ago and a few other bumpsides. So many trucks couldn’t count them all. Currently trying ‘66 only models although have a ‘65 F600. Very little content here vs other places. Doesn’t seem to be much interest here. I am north of 101 & 51 area. I get to...
I have been hiding under a rock . . I mean pushing hard to get the truck done.
Last few weeks have taken it on 3 different in state trips. Couple weekends ago to Lakeside/Pinetop AZ to a large car show. Drive was 460 miles. Last Sunday took a day trip to Seligman AZ and put a few miles on Route...
I was hiding under a rock . . Very cool build! Good numbers but not sure on the 25% loss. Possible on Raptor I guess but thinking maybe 15-20% max on my truck. Hoping to find out soon. Pushing hard trying to finish truck up. Getting close.
Closing in on it! What a relief where I can hop in hit key and go cruisin'
TPMS, AC, PATS all working. Past 30 days have made huge progress.
Fresh video taken this evening on where truck is now. Far exceeded my expectations.
Pretty sure I have narrowed the issue down now.
PIDS all good and all reflashed entire circuits good I have it narrowed down to the Shift Interlock switch.
No clue why it would default to Tow mode vs any other mode or why it would not reset to standard mode.
But, After doing a re-flash on...
See post #7
Reflash means fully erased and reloaded.
I did that to the Instrument Cluster, PCM, BCM and the TCM. Started over with a full As Built then did all the proper software upgrades. (PCM unintentional) (I had the stupid worthless PATS delete done & it zapped it)
Now subtract another 2000 lb from the Raptor & try the TRX again. That's what I am building. Not only that but I should get 900+ mile per fuel fill. All that then go 60-0 in 100' or less.
I looked thru the ‘66 owners manual but didn’t see anything about detect trailer but did see RF Traction control.
I then read cluster and it is seeing
No Trailer connected although does see
F100Raptor as possible trailer.
hahaha! I just had to throw that in there! Frustrated trying to figure out why it is stuck in tow.
The amount of hours so far is beyond crazy making it all work n function.
Being a good 2000 lb lighter than a stock raptor the downshift, compression brake is modified 10 fold. It's kinda fun to...
I actually ran full scan, I reflashed the transmission, instrument cluster, pcm and bcm to as built. I tested circuit and checked PIDS to make sure the Tow button is working. M mode and - + buttons work fine.
Transmission works great otherwise.
I think its hurting my MPG by quite a bit also...
