Got the truck back from the shop today - more detailed thread coming later
All I can say right now after driving it for about 50 miles: WOW, absolutely night and day difference in handling and feel.
If you're in NorCal - I highly recommend Devil Mountain Diesel. Mark and Jason are top notch...
And since you'd be moving from a Gen 2 to Gen 3 - immediately ceramic coat it, PPF it, ceramic coat it again and then one more layer of PPF just to be sure
Thanks for doing a great write up - Helio's video was great too. I did a lot of the same research you did when I was planning my suspension refresh. Glad to see the results came out awesome!
What's the truck like on the streets now? Or is it a purely off-road toy for you?
And what's the...
Received these bad boys in the mail today courtesy of @4x4TruckLEDs.com - placed my order Thursday night and somehow these showed up today.
Big changes coming soon....
I travel often for work and leave my truck sitting for 1-2 weeks at a time. Like @downforce137 mentioned, get yourself a battery tender. Super easy to hook up and you won't have to deal with a drained battery anymore.
I too have the car disease. We recently bought my wife a Mach-E as the run-about and DD. So far we're really loving it.
It's definitely dependent on your house/solar/wiring if you can support an EV but for us, we're basically driving it around for free because we already produce more solar...
New idea: go mid travel, dual bypasses, and 39s. That way you have to get glass and you can start all over again.
Would be the best "why'd you go mid travel" story out there.... "You see it started with PPF...."
I know I'm in the minority but I really liked the blue recaros on the Gen 2s and Gen 3s. It's the only option I wish I had gotten.

Builtright rear seat latch. Had a rattle coming from the backseat that was driving me nuts. This seems to have helped tremendously since my latch doesn't like to close on its own.
Hey Chris!
I've shipped my Rap from NC (Jville) to San Francisco and then again from Oceanside CA to Georgia and then again from VA to San Francisco.
Each time I've used Goliath Auto Transport. They're a small broker but very responsive and easy to work with. They've found me good drivers...
Wow, that was a lot of nonsense to read through. I both gained and lost brain cells. Thank you all.
I won a set of EBC Brakes at a rallycross raffle - I have no skin in the game for this recommendation. They sent me a set of extra duty (orange) pads and their dimpled & slotted rotors. While I...
Really wish they were still in town! I'm not a U2 fan but have heard nothing but amazing praise for their Sphere show, wish I could have caught one - that looks amazing!
Drove it. The minister of finance, pup, and I drove down to Las Vegas aka BUNMAN territory for a little vacation. Managed to sneak in "let's go check out that dry lakebed over there" and the wife went along. Had some fun opening it up and then convinced her that the only way back to the road was...
Welcome to the thuderdome.
Yes, you will need to purchase the OBD dongle that's recommended. There's tons of very helpful youtube videos on the process as well. I watched about 4 different ones before I felt comfortable doing it. Just make sure you do the backup that's recommended before you...
