Took off work to work on the truck and get it ready for the season closer this weekend. Freaking deer forced me at hoofpoint to cut two large sections out the frame for this one...
There's a factory plate there that can rustjack and cause issues, in fact I'm getting ready to cut mine out and replace with some new plates. Rustjacking on it has gotten to where I can't ignore it any longer.
I've personally only seen one case of a truck bending there from a nose dive. The...
Busier than I ever wanted to be, unfortunately. Hope you've been well! When I got back from that trip I got thrown headfirst into developing a new product at work and it's consumed most of my life - WAY too many 1am nights. That coupled with outside jobs for extra cash and working the farm in...
From him, no unfortunately not. However I did find a rogue calf about 1/4 mile later...
For legal reasons I need to specify I did what I could to get the calf back home
Slight update: I took her out for a shakedown and got a deer... Guess it's a good thing I'm designing a new bumper.
I'm not allowed to have nice things.
Truck turned her wheels for the first time in seven months today. Finally quit putting other peoples' work in front of mine, even if it is only because of an event in two weeks!
On Fridays we have night runs, main event is on Saturdays.
Good deal, can't wait to see you there!
Hope to see you there!
Apologies for being late with the pictures, was a lot busier this weekend than anticipated. Here are a couple from the past few seasons - last year's are with the black...
Registration for these events is through Savage's website. The track that's used is only for Savage, others aren't allowed to use it.
The website is https://www.savageoffroadevents.com/
The Savage event is a single, higher speed track vs an actual trail. The only time we've had a truck get...
Current schedule for the 24 season at Rausch is as follows:
April 12/13
August 16/17
November 8/9 (Toys for Tots run)
Good Lord willing, I'll be at all three of em. Would love to meet some forum members if yall come!
Tie rod boots I ran the OEMs, you have to cut them back a bit to fit. I used worm clamps to hold them to the rack/tie rod.
For the rod ends, I used the boots for the respective size from Kartek: https://www.kartek.com/parts-categories/rod-end-boots.html
When installing you have to be careful...
The squeaking is normal, lube em up regularly and it'll help keep it down as well as prolong their life. I did mine every oil change, though I had boots on the rod ends to help keep the water out.
Finally got mine home after killing the PS pump. Line rubbed through and the pump didn't take kindly to not having any fluid, so she lived at my friend's place until I could get one of the trailers up North for a rescue mission.
Apologies for just now seeing this - registration is still open (I finally got mine squared away last night, wasn't sure if the Panda would be making the last event). The 10th/11th is the Toys for Tots event - you can bring toys and non-perishable food items to exchange for raffle tickets (or...
Rausch has a dedicated track for just the Raptors. We pretty much show up, run, hangout, repeat. Kids (both big and small) are welcome! I had one as passenger in the Panda this past weekend. Some folks camp at the track, others stay at the hotels nearby in Pine Grove or at an AirBNB. Personally...
@Donovan you're welcome, would love to see you come out!
I want to say the usual turnout is 20-40 trucks. I'll be honest I've never truly counted how many turn out, just by how packed the pits are.
Yessir! I believe the cutoff for shirts was yesterday, but depending on the sizes extras are typically available!

Two more events this year at Rausch - Aug. 18/19th and Nov. 10/11th. I'll be at both! Fridays nights are the night run and then we go just about all day long on Saturdays.
I'll be there with the Panda!
Thought about mine. Life has kept me from doing much to it, though last weekend I took care of some cab rust I discovered when cutting the fender liners up.
This was a SCAB, so the baby brother of yours! If I see you I'll have to make myself known. I think I'm the only raptor around here that uses a bypass rack.
There is a molten orange (SCAB I think) I see running around every so often, though the bed and cab seem pretty intimate with each other...
