Thanks a ton. With the suction from the fresh grease, trying to pull the axle out again was almost as bad as the first time. But I definitely wanted to do it the right way.
Axle replaced, and new disc/caliper.
So I'm replacing the CV axles on my 2010 6.2. Finally get the passenger side off and new one in...and find this o-ring right underneath. It's about 1 3/8". Too big for the hub. Did it fall out of the UCA ball joint, the tie rod end, or somewhere else in the hub?
In actuality, I went from Ophir, bypassing nearby Telluride and immediately west over the Manti La Sals into Moab/Canyonlands for 4 or 5 days, then started back east to that pond I posted earlier for 4 days. Continued east to Telluride to give Imogene Pass another try.
Unlike Ophir, Imogene is...
We're not in chronological order here--Montrose/Ouray were basically the first places on my trip and I camped at altitude south of town on the road up to Imogene Pass. They got a little bit of rain and snow the night before I was going to do Imogene, so I had to reroute to Ophir Pass via the...
Just realized I didn't take many photos this trip--especially of the Ouray and Telluride. Both cool towns--moreso for Ouray. The size and steepness of the mountains on either side cannot be captured by photos anyway.
...where I found a campsite with my own private lake (more of a pond really) at a little over 10,000 ft. The fly fishing was good at dusk, Threw all of them back except one. The last pic is a larger lake, but didn't camp there.
Each year I do a 2 week dispersed camping trip with the 2010 6.2. In 2020 it was the Moab/southern UT area, 2021 was around the Yellowstone/Tetons area, 2022 was Big Bend, and a few weeks ago I did Moab/Colorado again. I do other smaller or less camping-focused trips as well, such as the...
Fuse 46 was fine as well.
Can't get FORScan to connect. Tried both positions on the OBD2, plugging/unplugging, closing and restarting forscan, etc.
This is the OBD2 I bought. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094QHZ77F/?tag=fordraptorforum-20
There is no driver being installed...should there be?
I have not checked those. I haven't been in there doing anything else, but I'll check anyway.
On a complete tangent, but am I able to disable the TPMS warnings through ForScan? When I bought the beadlocks and new tires last year apparently I bought and installed the wrong sensors.
Downloaded ForScan. The cable just arrived, so I'll scan it tonight.
The gearshift assembly should arrive at the local dealer tomorrow. I didn't order the BCM yet, but another Chicago dealer has one in stock, if necessary. Where does that Parkin Interlock Solenoid go though? I can't find...
Battery reset did not work. I picked up a new shift interlock solenoid, removed the console, and undid the 4 bolts holding the shifter assembly in place. I did not see the part matching the solenoid--is it deeper down or somewhere else? What I did find though, was the broken off little curved...
I haven't. I suppose it couldn't hurt. If that doesn't work then I have a shift interlock solenoid arriving tomorrow. And if that doesn't work I've got a new BCM waiting in an online shopping cart.
In searching, I notice that it lists the BCM as part number AL3Z-15604-D for 2010 and BL3Z-15604-A for 2011, and that's ALL Ford vehicles for that year. Sounds like I would indeed want the one for 2010, but I'm just checking since it is the 6.2.
By the way, it's not the brake pressure switch...
2010 6.2
Background info
A couple months ago I had the third brake light issue with Hill Descent Control warning. Also, when the lights were on I would get that Hill Descent Control fault and cruise control would not work. If I turned the truck off and back on again without turning on the...
