Everything checks out on the truck, so I’m leaning towards replacing thermostat with the 170 degree SPD performance thermostat. My engine is stock and I don’t plan on getting a tune. Is there any downside to having the engine run cooler, especially in the colder winter of SE Wisconsin? Anyone...
That does help. Thank you.
Where did you find the procedure for bleeding coolant system? I’ve searched the web and YouTube and only found people’s way to do it, not the way Ford says to do it.
If that doesn’t work, I might go the route of replacing the thermostat.
Definitely a possibility I got an air bubble in the cooling system.
It was surprising to me with the engine not at operating temperature (still cold) that the shutter was not completely closed. I may clip a GoPro to the grill over the weekend and go for a drive to make sure they are moving and...
Some background:
My 2019 is my daily driver and doubles as a tow vehicle for my boat in the summer months. All summer I never had an issue with elevated engine temps. Even on a 5 hour tow in mid 90s outside temp the engine never showed an elevated temp, even with some moderate grade climbs...
Mine did the exact same thing going into 5 gear for months this year (like April until a few weeks ago). It recently went away (or unnoticeable currently). I did have my cam phasers done in early Aug, so may be the transmission relearning fixed it?
Had the cam phasers fixed on my 2019 Raptor (6/19 build) this week, which also included the software update. They have been rattling for about 23,000 miles. Got the truck back last night. No rattle this morning on a cold start, which was amazing to hear, and drove perfectly on my 30 mile...
I've got ~10,000 miles on my 2019 since it developed the rattle on a cold starts (started around 6,000 miles). So far, no noticable problem or changes in the way it drives.
Curious on what everyone is seeing for oil temps towing. With my Malibu WakeSetter 23LSV (est weight of ~6,500 lbs), I'm seeing temps as high as 225 in the summer now.
Looking for advise on how to fix this issue. I have a 2019 Raptor (no SYNC upgrade) and a Samsung Galaxy S10. The phone is hard lined in with a USB-C cable and goes to android auto when plugged in. The system previously read texts when I received them, pushing the button on the screen, and go...
I'll give it a shot. Just press the accelerator and hit the start button and it will crank without starting? Does the the truck when the accelerator is released?
Fully understand . . . Can always have an issue. That's why there is a warranty.
Took it to the dealer before Christmas. Tech there told me as long as it doesn't throw code or last more than 5 seconds, they really shouldn't do it because it will come back. They told me they'd replace it if I...
I have a 2019 Raptor with a 6/2019 build and have the cam phaser rattle since at least December (~6,000 miles on the truck) - I posted the noise in this thread about that time. I took it to the dealer and they told me it was normal for the EB to make a little little bit of rattle on cold start...
Funny thing with mine is sometimes it sounds like that (loud enough to hear in the cab with the door shut) and other times is just slightly noticable like his video.
My 2019 (June '19 build) with 7,000 sounds exactly the same and has since 5,000 miles. The colder the day, the louder it sounds. Had it in the dealer for it and was told as long as it does not last for 5 seconds or more, or throws a code, it's considered normal. The tech said if he was to...
I've got a tight garage space in terms of length. I maybe have 4 inches to spare when parking. I find backing into the garage and using the reverse camera with the zoom feature (e.g. trailer hook up) the best for getting it close to the wall without hitting it.
No, I do not find it necessary on my 2014 23LSV. With the dual axel trailer and the v-drive the weight is distributed nicely on the trailer where the sag is managable (about 1 inch more than what my 2015 F150 Platinum had) and the drive is stable. Also, I have yet to find anyone that has...
I had a dealer very close to me pick them up, so it would actually be more convenient than the Malibu. I need to get out in the spring and water test the 23 foot RI series. I'm hoping to talk them into meeting me out on the lake when I'm out there already to ride the RI and my LSV side by side.
