One last evac & charge yet again. It's up and running w/o issue. AC machine gave me some fits. Long story short I got the oil added back in that I needed and did a finial charge. Took 1.5lbs of R134A quickly and everything ran smooth. Cleaned the truck up and took it for a 200 mile trip...
The expansion valve on this system should adjust and not let it blow cold air (38 to 44F just out vents) in 35F ambient temp correct?
I overthink everything
I've driven this truck for 10 years and all of the sudden I'm questioning myself as well as my aged tech experience.
Question.....Will a 2012 Raptor AC work when it's 40F outside driving down the road?
-I can only get my shop to about 60F to 75F. It's 30 to 40F outside here in SW KS right...
Expansion valve wouldn't be bad if I had 6' arms and I had an eye on one of my hands. I've got my truck on a Bendpak lift so makes the topside a little more challenging.
Compressor and the two other lines and I'll have it under a vacuum. Not sure I'll finish it this evening.
Being out of...
Condenser is in (Forgot how fun that little task is). Compressor and line sets are out. Next up is to remove expansion valve and flush Evap. Can't say I'm enjoying this very much.
I wish I had access to ALLDATA or similar these days. Oh well, I'll get it.
I got lucky and borrowed a AC...
You wouldn't in my neck of the woods.........Closest Ford Dealer I trust is 150 miles away (Unfortunately) and they quoted me $3200. My previous profession was a auto/diesel tech. I primarily work on muscle car stuff these days. Newest vehicle I have done an AC system on was my 2004 FX4.
I'm...
All new parts minus evaporator in which I will flush it. Luckily I have access to a ACR2000 134A recovery and charge machine so I don't expect any issues. Compressor appears to be one of the tougher items to R&R.
AC System on 2012 135,000mile 6.2
Replaced the condenser on my 2012 Ford Raptor a couple years back due to the oil cooler leak. Serviced the AC properly however the compressor shortly after started making that "I'm gonna give up on you some day" sound. Fast forward to a few weeks ago it...
Contacted 5 star and haven't heard back yet. Via email and tried to phone in.
As mentioned above, I have a X3 5 star unit. Bought it in 2013 for my 2012 Raptor 6.2. It's been great.
Had the (Transmission downshift recall 19S07) so I took it (after reverting back to stock tune) and had my...
Looking for a set of factory 2012 Factory Headlamp Assemblies. Both LH & RH Units.
Must be in great condition.
Let me know what you have.
Location: 67801
Curious what the bill was on those? I paid just under $1700 for the set with mounts, nuts, rubbers. I almost ordered from Rock Auto but back in April they were more iffy than Fairwayfordparts.com. Maybe I should have went that direction!
These look better on the shop wall than the new one's on the bench. 2.5hours and install was complete. (Have a lift in my shop so that helps as well as a *****'n set of tools from my previous profession)
Just placed an order through fordpartsgiant.com for plugs and wires. $183.57 Delivered
16 CYFS-12-FP Plugs
4 CC3Z-12286-A
4 CC3Z-12286-C
Pretty sure I have the correct part numbers because I already placed the order.
Do these part numbers align with what you fellas have used...
Fairway Ford..............Ordered 4-12-21..............Several emails with quick response and they keep telling me they are waiting on one rear shock. Pretty certain I've seen others receive new rear shocks 30 days ago. Should have just sent them off for rebuild.
Fairway Ford is where I ordered my shocks and related items. I was told they would ship compete to me next week. (Fingers crossed) I've had them on order for about 4 weeks now.
Tasca Ford shows BL3Z-18124-J not available. They responded to my return email with only a rear shock cost, no part numbers. Won't be going through my local dealer at those prices.
