Yes. It's not the fan. The sound is there even when the fan isn't running. I think it's either a ground issue or possibly the amp. I'm leaning to ground since the additional ground improved it slightly.
The RCAs are shielded. They are Stinger 4000 series. I even pulled them out and ran them straight through the cab to the amp so they aren't touching anything. The noise is present even when they are unplugged. I tried unbolting the amp from the board, in case the factory amp mounted on the...
Changed my crossover to 90hz front, 95hz rear, and sub to 85hz and it sounds much better thanks for the advice.
It allowed me to uncover a new issue. A very low hiss. It's audible even withe the radio off. I checked the RCAs and even after unplugging them it's still there. I assume it is a...
I just reread this. Why do you recommend the fronts crossed over higher than the rear? I would think the 6x9 fronts would be able to handle lower than the 6.5 rears.
Thanks for the feedback
Max volume is 30 and if the clipping indicator in the Rockford is to be believed (and from what I've seen, it's as accurate as a SMD DD1) I get no source clipping at 30. I'm not sure if this is because the PAC AMPPRO pulls direct from the data bus or what. I do know that...
1. I'm planning to upgrade the door speakers to something a little higher quality with a higher power handling. The JBLs are rated at 90w front and 65w rear. The amp puts out 100w so I have the gain set lower. I have the fronts set at -5db gain and the rears at 0db with the sub at -10db. With...
I thought I would document my system upgrade.
Step one, full sound deadening.
I used Kilmat 80mil on floor and back wall of cab.
Then I did 80mil inside and outside on the doors and 50mil on the back of the door panels. I also replaced the plastic sheet on the doors with ABS block off...
I might have to take you up on that. I'm putting together my setup now So I can do a full install when the weather warms up. I'm trying to keep everything concealed and keep the floor open. That really limits me since I have to make room behind the seat for the sub and the amp. I will probably...
After looking back at the photos, I think its the light from the ZEN. It looked like an orange stain on the wires/carpet, but it's just how the light looks.
Nice setup. Some questions/suggestions:
Did you shrink wrap the splices you did in the harness? It doesn't look like there is any in the picture.
Is you rear door speaker wire running between the door and the speaker? If so, I would make a thin spacer to allow it to not be pinched between...
Zen only works on B&O on 2018+. For 2017 Sony system, the best option is PAC AMP-PRO. Flat signal with 6 channels of clean RCA output at 4 or 5 volts with the option for TOSLINK. It also allows you to upgrade any part of the system from just a sub to a complete build since it intercepts the...
What is the Orange on the wires by the ZEN?
Where did you ground the system?
I've been told that on these trucks it is recommended to run the ground to the battery and that NAV TV requires the Zen to be grounded to the battery.
I had the same issue with accidentally turning mine on until I tied them into a relay triggered off the high beams. I see not point in ever running them unless I also have the high beams on. Plus on rural back roads I can leave them on and let the auto high beams turn them off if I come across...
Your information was wrong so I corrected you. If you had listed the source in your post, my response might have been different but you didn't. You didn't offer an opinion or relay that Discount Tire had advised against it. You gave advise as a statement of fact. As I stated if your going to...
If your going give advise, at least know what your talking about. You say you can put 37s on the factory wheel but it's not advised because of the width of the wheel. 37 is the tire height not width so the width of the wheel has no factor here. If we assume that your talking about mounting a...
