Seems crazy to me on the typical Raptor pavement princess. You'll never get the cost of the PPF back at selling time due to having (possibly) better paint.
Maybe in some ways?
It's essentially just a low production engine line. They don't need 5000 Predator engines a day, but they still need many thousands per year.
They are not being built anywhere clost to what a "hand built" engine is typically assumed to be though IMO. Hand built engines...
Your are really better off building the engine at the stock 6.2L size if you plan to run a blower. The pistons and cylinders will last longer if the pistons come out of the hole less, and you'll have less side loading of the skirt and block due to better rod angles.
Amazon still sells the OEM lights.

I bought those 8 years ago. They were only $123 for the pair back then.
They are certainly not "hand built".
For example- nobody is torquing heads one bolt at a time with a Snap On digital wrench. Why? Because the giant hydrauilc powered automated head bolt machine they have is WAY better, and faster. It does all the bolts at one time.
Look up the Ford niche...
It's basically a 5.0L with a blower.
It'd be cheaper to sell the Gen 1 and buy the Raptor R, than it would be to buy the R engine separately, and then spend the money to do the swap.
I remember a neighbor bringing home a brand new Chrysler minvan.
He said something about the dash lights acting funny- but the dealer said not to worry, they'd fix it.
As soon as he said that, I told him he was going to have to lemon law it. There was likely no way they'd find that and fix it...
Asusming you can get them for a reasonable price, which might be tough now, I'd get OEM. I got a pair of new OEM taillights for only $90 back in 2016, but I have a feeling Ford no longer makes/sells them.
Don't overtighten the mounting screws whatever you put in there- that's what cracks...
Last thread I saw on here talking about it showed Raptor R production numbers that were very close, but less than that of the V6 powered trucks.
I read somehwere else that R models comprised about 1/3 of total production.
When I was a teenager- I had a 2WD pickup with an open diff and a stick shift. After a winter with no traction on all seasaons, I got studded snows on the back. The tires had the old style thick zig zag lugs.
I could stop on a 20% incline covered in untouched ice and then get going agian...
No, you cannot.
You linked an upgrade kit for a 13-14 truck.
The 09-12 F150s have a different electrical architecture than the 13-14 F150s.
It's not happening.
Yeesh. Front door to fender gap is huge compared to back door to rear of cab gap.
At least the top of the doors line up when you look in your side mirror.
You gotta go bigger diameter to create a larger moment, all other things being equal.
Unless they are going to replace the master and/or rejigger the pedal ratios, then all other things essentially *are* equal and nothing will change.
You might get a better brake feel from a stiffer caliper...
Don't forget about winter up north. It applies more to sports cars than trucks, but there's 5-6 month period where nobody wants a new car because the weather is shit.
People up north want to buy as soon as winter is over, and don't want to step foot in a lot after the end of November...
If you really want A/C and Ford can't fix it- tape off small sections of your A/C condenser core (front and back sides). You can use cardboard with tape all around the edges. Slowly block more and more until it stops freezing up. The hotter liquid refrig leaving the condenser and going into...
It's OK when it's reved to the moon, high RPMs in a burnout hides the loaded engine's exhaust note.
Compared to a V8 or V12 doing the same though- it sounds bad.
Yes I am. They all sound bad. Their factory exhausts mask it as much as possible- but it's there. Don't forget about all of the Dodge Vipers as well.
A Lamborghini Huracan pulled into the gas station and into the pump right behind me 1 week ago. One of the re-skinned Audi R8s with the...
