GEN 2 Wet carpets front and rear

Probably got a clog/pinch in the roof drains. Clean the drains, if that doesn't help then it may be a seal.

    Anyone considering a Ranger Raptor?

GMC Canyon ATX is very good looking but that 8 speed transmission is trash. Been that way for years for GM, but like their lifter issue, they don't give a **** about trying to fix it.

    Anyone considering a Ranger Raptor?

If I had to downsize my truck I would definitely consider the RR over any other midsize truck. Just wish they could of stuffed 35's in there stock.

MY19 just under 18k miles, zero issues... wondering if I have a phaser "time bomb" that *will* go off some day?

I have a 17 with the original plastic pan and no OASIS of the phaser being replaced. Original owner took the truck every 3-5k miles for any service to the same dealer I bought it from/I know the advisors. It may fail tonight, or it may last another 7 years.

    WTB: 2024 Raptor R OEM Wheels (803A)

I hope not. Raptor R or not, you can get some badass real beadlocks wheels for less than that

    WTB: 2024 Raptor R OEM Wheels (803A)

There's no pricing from Ford yet, right? I've seen on FB between 5,500 and 6k with the tires.

Thinking about buying this truck. What do i need to look out for?

Cold start crank up. Any chatter. Check the oil pan. See if it's the 1st half 18 with plastic or with metal. Can't hurt to look at CV's and take a peak at front diff for signs of weeping Any residue around the shocks for leaks. FRS is a nice setup, but not as nice when you got to get them...

    Its not looking good boys...

How'd they determine piston? They scope it or just throwing shit at the wall with you paying the bill?

    IWE on a 2020 Rappy

IWE noise is a grinding noise at low speeds. If you haven't heard that, pass on the 1.2k bill. There's stuff you can check yourself and verify if a hose is cracked/solenoid is going bad etc.

    Raptor Regret?

I had 3 6.2L Raptors. Bought a 3.5L Gen 2. No regrets. Miss the sound, but combined with the lighter body I enjoy driving it.

    Raptor 6.2 2012 4 door vs 6.2 2010 2 door

23 v 36 gallon tank too is a thing to keep in mind. I like cruising longer distances before needing to fillup. Don't care about costs, more about not having to go out of my way for the good stations often.

What did you do to your Raptor today? (Gen2)

Is that the JLP one I put on 15 years ago?

Bead lock ring removal or not?

I've seen it done both ways. As @catinthehat85 posted as long as the shop knows what they are doing then it's fine leaving it on.

    Another IWE thread

Think I have the same issue. Grinding noise sound like metal being dragged under the truck? Replaced the same items too. Of course when I dropped it off to Ford for this and another issue, no noise and they didn't want to investigate further

    Sulfur smell

Dad had an E55 years ago that would smell like sulfur. Turned out the battery in the trunk was leaking/releasing that smell.

$1.62 = less mess oil changes

I figure if the eels need car batteries another ocean animal needs oil.

    180000 mile 2017 raptor?

There's someone on the FB forums(FRF) that posted an image of 21x,*** miles on his Gen 2. Replaced the phasers around 160k miles iirc. Pretty impressive.

    South Florida off-road truck shop

Where at in South Florida are you? And what exactly do you want done? I tried out CTM Customs in Stuart for my front shocks install. Turned out fine. Not the cheapest place, but they seem to have done a good job/they had prior reviews from Raptor owners.

Opinion on buying a 2017 raptor

I rather spend 5-10k more for half the mileage but that's just me. At 100k, if no service records you'll be spending thousands getting all the fluids/shocks/maintenance done.

    Overhaul Time

Yea, I only mention that as after I bought mine used I changed the plugs to inspect the valve covers. I spilled some oil on my last change and a week later I got freaked out for a bit till I realized I did make a mess the last go around but am watching just in case. For 95% road use I would...

    Overhaul Time

    1. Maybe. You do your own oil changes? Notice any loss over 1-3k miles? 2. What's your end goal with the truck? I went Fox Race Series(17-18) as I'm regarded but also like to offroad the truck ~6 times a year and wanted adjustability without dealing with eclik/wiring etc. OEM is pretty good...

    Interior Water Leak Ideas?

IIRC the Gen 1's, one of mine included, had an issue with water getting into the cab via the 3rd brake light. Not sure if the Gen 2 has the same issue or a better gasket was used by Ford. I would get a garden hose and test out spots that may be the culprit. Start by applying water to the...

Is this thing worth a crap?

I was hellbent on getting one for my 17 until I realized the stock plug isn't too terrible to mess with. For some reason my wifes previous expedition with the plastic plug was a PITA but this truck it wasn't that bad.
