Mine also has that exhaust sound on start up, and I get a lot of pop/burble on decel too but coming from years of turbo sports cars I consider that a plus haha.
Like 310 said, the second video sounds exactly like the chirp I have. I did start my truck after 4.5 hours out in the cold, and had no...
Yuck that sounds like a shitty situation. I got my truck back this morning, several of the drive belts were worn/glazed so they were replaced with the tensioner belt and pulley. They say this got rid of the noise but I won’t know for sure until I can test it in conditions where I had the noise...
So I went in and started it with the service manager and pointed out the noise. Kind of brutal that’s how it has to go but at least now we’re on the same page that something isn’t right. They’ve been poking around most of the day and believe they have the sound isolated to the tensioner assembly...
What altitude are you at? I was getting 4.9 on my 23 V6 Raptor on 35s with a JB4 before switching to the R. Still wild for a giant off road truck I just figured it would be blowing the doors off the reg Raptor hah.
Dealer “can’t replicate” the sound, I have no idea how that’s possible as it sat in the cold for at least 12 hours before they started it. When I start it at work after 6-8 hours you can hear the chirp across the parking lot so I’m not sure what they’re doing. Going to let them keep it in the...
Yeah there’s definitely something oily going on there, but hopefully it’s this:
If I clean them up should I be expecting this to recur if it’s the assembly lube?
Thanks for the replies!
Any word on yours? I just dropped mine off so it can sit with them overnight and have a real cold start in the AM. Will report tomorrow when I hear what they have to say. Depending on how this goes I’ll call Ford - I’m in Canada though I’m not sure if the cases are country specific.
Hey guys,
24 R, noticed some residue on my rear shocks. Almost no miles on it, just brought it home from the dealer. Seems weird that both rears would be defective, anyone else seeing this?
+1 for this chirp. ‘24 R, couple hundred miles on the clock, just picked it up last week. Same deal as most of the thread, about 1:30-2min after a true cold start the noise is identical to the videos posted. Goes away after driving. Interested to see what the dealer says at your appointment...
