I apologize for assuming, that’s my bad.
And I was just reading through the posts and saw you mentioned doing a battery and the whole “wish me luck” thing, and then the next pic down was a light colored raptor with a front end apart… it’s just my brain and my humor, all in good fun.
Got my tool in today, I think I’m going to have my exhaust shop cut the tool right on the “7” and start there, I’ll adjust if necessary. Hopefully the swivel wrench comes in today on the UPS truck and I can try this tonight.
Yeah, I figured I would look at the hardware when it got here to see if I could modify it any…
Also, if it looks like it’s going to be ass, I’ll just send it back.
It was just in my budget for at least giving it a shot.
It’s one of those situations where I wanted to be able to keep things covered, but didn’t want to spend too much since I have other priorities on the truck I’d rather put that money into.
If I don’t like it, I’ll probably just add that BakFlip to my list… rough country had a similar product...
I brought the transmission shop 8qts of Mercon LV and a MC filter and fel-pro pan gasket, and they serviced my transmission for $65 bucks... that' was a LOT cheaper than I was expecting, and totally pays for the mess that I was able to avoid in my garage LOL
Today, I was out picking up my truck after getting the transmission serviced, waiting for my wife to get out of the damn dollar tree, and I was thinking about how my nice new spray in liner was going to eventually fade, so I decided to look at some tri-fold covers.
I was sticker shocked to...
I also ordered a Saudi transmission cooler, and a glove box, because mine had a scratch and I’m super OCD…
I’m taking it in Monday to the transmission shop to do a pan drop and filter swap… all the parts and fluids came in… way cheaper to order Mercon LV from amazon than parts stores/Wally...
So, here’s the update on that. While I was sourcing some bigger Jack stands to get the ass end up high enough, he went to a local off-road shop and the guy was rude from the word “hi”, and threw out $4500 as a number for a rebuild (my neighbor just stopped in to politely ask worst case...
I can’t speak from experience yet… but I was eventually going to go with SW. They had a good reputation in the LS community, and I noticed a lot of raptor builds running them. I’m sure either would work fine, but I just felt my “gut” tell me to go SW.
I’d Jack the front up and check for play. Shocks, as mentioned, are a good bet! This is going to make me go out and lower my pressures since it’s starting to warm up.
I just hope it’s not made out of something like tungsten carbide! . I’ll just have the exhaust shop use their cutting wheel and estimate a start point and grind it from there.
Okay, serp kit didn’t have the wonder fix… that was a long shot idea by me LOL.
But… I think if I pick up this wrench and cut that bit down, I’ll have a decent tool to give it a shot? I have a grinder.
