“Id like a tri-fold cover for a 2013 f150”
Retailer: “okay, that will be $600”
“Sweet! My raptor needed one!”
Retailer: “oh, you have a raptor? That’s $1200”
“But… it’s the same bed size?”
Retailer: “but… raptor”
I just built my ideal truck in my head, but then realized I pretty much built a 79 f150 with a 300 straight six.
Just rebuild that truck and sell it today so I can get financing LOL.
My 04 SCSB chevy 5.3 had a floor shifter, so did my 97 k1500... I loved that about them. I still get nostalgic and pissed off when I sold them when the market exploded. That money is gone now, and I wish I had my trucks back LOL.
And that, for the money, is where I probably should have gone. For whatever reason, I just preferred a hard cover, don't ask, I have no good explanation. I do like to cruise around with my rear window open, so it may just be the noise that the soft tops have given me over the years.
I went on...
Just a post with some random thoughts I was having, and some back porch buddy discussion, since there's not a lot of new posts this week for gen 1's...
To keep up with consumer demand for trucks having more features and tech, becoming basically luxury trucks or family haulers that can go off...
History and update on this:
I was going down a neighbors driveway, which was a lot of hard gravel rocks and rough but small potholes, and I just felt it ALL through the steering column. I could feel some of it as "play" in the steering wheel, my hand was holding firm, but you felt slop...
It actually attaches at the rear, middle and front. The front is “permanent” in the sense that once you secure it, you are not meant to remove it for use, only if you were removing the cover.
The middle and rear are adjustable clamps that are designed to be removed and re-attached quickly for...
I was in a c-130 from Kuwait, into Iraq. All of the sudden the plane starts making maneuvers like the pilot is having a seizure… then the sky lights up from counter measures… ******* has never been the same from that pucker… nothing like riding on a floating roller coaster with zero control of...
Rough country was my next choice, but this cover finally came in and a buddy and I tossed it on… honestly, for $350… it’s not bad! Not near as multifunction as the higher end models, but for what I needed it for, I think it will work, for now.
143k… but it wasn’t abused or ran off-road. I actually don’t have worn suspension that I can tell, but I don’t know the history on the shocks at all and don’t really know what a bad fox shock feels like… I just figured if I went ahead and swapped it all out, I would know it’s all new, you know?
So, this did not end up having the desired effect I was hoping for.
I got the tool shaved down to fit, got it and a wrench up in there and tightened it. But I didn’t have much to tighten before it started to get tight (1/8 of a turn total, so I backed it off slightly and took a test drive...
Sounds like the TC failed…
If it’s not giving you issues, you could ride it out until it blows, take your chances. I would just hate for it to go at the worst possible time. Kind of depends on your situation. Price seems reasonable with a new TC as well.
I was a 63b wheel mechanic. When they gave us new infrared laser thermometer’s as “hooah” gifts… the first thing we all did is take the temperature of our own balls,
Right there in the shop office, and see whose balls were the hottest.
