I use the center button (with the dude talking) to voice activate the call. The lower left phone button answers the call while the lower right phone button hangs up the call. Hope this helps.

You could always go with a clear piece of vinyl and make it disappear. Protecting that area is a good idea as I've got 15k on the clock and I've got several chips in those areas.
