Not sure why transportation to the dealer is such a big deal for you.
When you are buying a brand new vehicle for nearly $70k, I would go with the one closest to the desired one in your head. I'd compromise less on exactly the truck I always wanted, and compromise more on other things such as...
The Gen 2 is a much more upscale vehicle than the Gen 1s, especially early Gen 1s. Which means most people who bought the ~$65k Gen 2s have babied it - you can see the number of threads about ceramic coating and HRE wheels and whatnot.
Flip side is that being a turbo, there is a ton of hot...
ehhhh. So much misinformation in this thread. At least you are trying to learn so I will be constructive.
TorSen (short for Torque Sensing) is an LSD. It will allow one wheel to spin UP TO a certain amount more than the other wheel before it locks them both. The threshold is called a TBR or...
I was talking about with the antenna mounted on the antenna mount. Not sure why folks would remove the antenna and remount it for each trip - most people I know just leave the CB antenna on all the time.
Anyway, don't mean to muddle up your thread. Looks like a great mount, thank you for...
No I hear you. This looks well made and probably gets the best reception of all possible mounting locations on the vehicle.
I unfortunately park in a garage and the trails in the north east are TIGHT with a lot of overgrowth, so a mount that sticks up from the roof would not work. I know as...
That looks like a good mount. Somehow, $330 for an antenna mount strikes me as having a lot of Raptor tax added on. For comparison, hood mounts are about $30 a piece, and 15 feet of coax aren't too pricey.
No one on FRF can ever answer a question without lecturing or throwing out bullshit information about what the truck is built for. Geez this forum is full of trash.
Truck rides exactly the same, I can't tell any difference. I have the 1.5" RPG collars up front and I am very happy with the stance now.
Here is a photo of my trailer hitched up - this was before a leaf was added in the rear.
Would adding the Timbren prevent the rear from sagging...
Gents, I have a question.
I tow a bunch in the summer - ~4500 lbs 7x14 - and after last summer my stock rear springs had sagged quite a bit. So I had my local suspension shop rearch them and add a leaf and I gained the height back.
For next season, should I still get the timbrens, or the...
Here's a sitrep.
I ordered an Odyssey PC2150S yesterday. Group 31, 1150 CCA, 100 AH. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002498NR2/?tag=fordraptorforum-20
It will sit on my trailer's tongue all summer and power a fan and lights in my trailer when I don't have access to shore power / generator...
I don't think so. MAF/MAP sensors get dirty over time mostly due to dust that gets past the air filter. Not oil related.
In fact, my mpg hit started right after a 1000 mile offroad trip that involved driving through dust clouds most of the time. I changed the air filter right after that trip...
I just rolled 18k miles and cleaned my MAP sensors for the first time. In the last 3-4k miles, my mpg had taken a noticeable hit even accounting for winter blend gas.
I just sprayed down all 3 MAP sensors (two on the air intake itself, one on the back of the engine block underneath the foam...
Nick is correct. Full hot is 88. I set mine to 100 and I can't tell that much of a difference to be honest. And yes, it also 'feels' like it reduces the heat output after a while of running.
Flagman, could you please post up a pic of the part numbers of the replacement kit that Timbren is sending you? Want to make sure those of us who order get the right item.
For those that installed these, do you have to remove the rear wheels to do the install and uninstall?
I wheel in the...
I have had good experiences with South Shore Automotive Specialists in Plymouth. A bit far from the city, but they did quality work on my old truck on more than one occasion.
I remember trying to set it to 45 mins back when I first got the truck, and my experience then was the same as yours. It didn't work and would always cut right out.
It's apples and oranges, but I did a borla x-pipe on my vette (a corsa x-pipe is also a popular mod) and it only changes the sound very slightly. Its noticeably louder on startup and slightly louder in the mid range. It was around the same price too if I remember.
What about higher than 90 mph?
LOL
Good to know these don't have wind noise. Thanks for posting guys, will definitely consider these when I put together my light package.
How is the wind noise with these a-pillar mounts and lights? The stock gen 2 is so quiet that I noticed increased wind noise with just adding a CB antenna. Makes you think that adding these lights will definitely add noise at highway speeds?
