Take it to a ford dealer and have them check it. Will cost not sure how much but at least you'll know if there's any major issues before you fork over the money and carfax.

You can always get some rustoleum not sure if that's how you spell it and paint them. Have the same problem after winter.

Have the dealer check your break components. There's a possibility that water got in somewhere where it's not supposed to. Had the truck there for a couple of days to have everything thaw out. Have a friend that works at dealership that helps. He took my break assembly apart and he found water...
