Sounds like a good DIY project. I think you will find most people here are unafraid to put holes in the truck. Hell, most of us drilled a hole in the roof for a VHF antenna. Who cares about a fender liner! Haha. If that is the route you want to go I say draw it, make it, and then show it off!
MTF already answered you and yes the temperature delta is the cause. I aired back up to 44 and then down to what I was running. Light went off in a day with a long drive.
Yes, I had that when I brought the truck from a place with little humidity to a place with high humidity. You can use a heat gun on low to get rid of it or it will go away on its own as well.
