Just for the record here sent this to one of our engineers here who got a nice chuckle out of this. Almost every single point made is incorrect especially the part about embrittlement lol (process actually starts when the tire comes out of the mold and is exposed to the atmosphere to be...
My God Man--hope you have a rich Daddy.... You have no idea--have you read what I have been posting? Jezzz the heat cycling that causes embrittlement is one in the same that the race tires use to get the tires to achieve optimum performance. Try one of those tires in an everyday summer...
Ahhhh we have someone on the right track here –no pun intended. Our young friend thinks that the non DOT tires are “from a safety standpoint, race tires will hold up better than DOT tires for anything you throw at them” is so far in the weeds he cannot see the sunshine above. Actually QUITE THE...
Was driving by the dealer in west Ft Worth on 820 just south of I30 and they had a Raptor strawberry limited sitting out. Sure is a good looking color!
Read the specific law reporting requirements in your state and follow them exactly. This is a tough area that all of the manufactures resist. Will take some time and effort but will be worth it in the end. My 2011 had lots of issues but unfortunately showed up after 36k for the most part.
That is Not what the manufacturers have told me. How did you come upon this information might I ask????
This is going to get good folks---sit down and get the popcorn.. I thought Cleave knew better...
No this is real--modified by yours truly from one end to the other. 540 Scott Shafiroff racing engine built with a one off cam because this is a 2 speed auto tranny. First gear is really all because the 2nd is a od which will not take too many power shifts. It is called a Boss Hoss. Some people...
Not being one (well a little) but love the posting without reading the WEALTH of information on the topic here. Makes them look even more like snot nosed kids with nothing better to do...
Bless your heart. The street queens are the primary market for Ford now. Oh well something for everyone and Ford will make more money by keeping the CAFE numbers up. Sad but hey Ford went turbo---the new 6.2 engine in the 2014 GM truck's (Vette) is a killer...
BTW I have had or currently own...
No big deal really most Raptors are street queens so a v6 ringy dingy motor will work fine for them.
Keep the current model big boy V8's because the next gen Raptor will fall flat with a Eco Boost V6.
I have seen enough Raptors being driven around her by high school kids that actually believe that they are real trophy trucks.... Had a discussion with one who pulled up next to me at a gas station... Told him to enjoy it and by the looks of it he was---covered in mud and grass. Not that there...
Ok when is the deadline to order. I like my Yeti but am always will to try another good Texas Product!! Hear that Madcow?????
I want a Tan M35... Need one for the 2dr JK... Big ones only fit in the truck. How do you want payment?
Just one reason never to buy a used Raptor. Make sure to make sure the frame is not bent as well. Some people abuse them and when they realize it is fried trade it! Seen a couple here in DFW that did that exact thing.
Will not work bottom line without rubbing. Mine was on the top perch and had extensive modifications to the inside and it would Still rub under the right conditions.
Bottom line--street queen which you are will most likely be ok however when turning esp backing up at full turn or close to it...
For a street queen he will still have rubbing issues given the right conditions (esp backing up in a full turn with a small dip). I ran the top perch and had extensive inner fender well work done. Lots of threads on this but bottom line his throat his razor.
The tranny has a thermostat. You cannot do a complete replacement of fluid without a machine. This has been well documented here. I had my fluid removed at around 5 k and replaced with Amsoil--better shifts and smoother. Did the transfer case as well.
I had a 2011 that was modified a bit and that was the primary reason I traded it. Got tired of sweating halfway home everyday. There is no fix. Mine went back to 2 different dealers 4 times.
You need to get the help from this person and get on with it... Your truck is not a test mule!! Do it do it now. Make the call in the morning to the person who said they would help while it is fresh on their mind because politicians forget$$. Let this be someone else's problem...
My 2011 started having problems at 36k and when I sold it at 70k had quite a few. Lots of little things to break -- no different than the loaded up regular F-150. Maybe even worse because of the specific problems associated with the front axles on the 2012 and up. Perch mods seem to give the...
Well my sources at Michelin tell me they are not long for this world. The replacement will be coming out before the end of the year. Sales have not been good for the old design. Tread will be much more conventional. KM'2 will not be changed just the AT's.
