I do not have the V2.2. The dealer checked for software updates and said it was the newest version since V2.2 hasn't been officially released yet. I suppose when it gets rolled out, we'll see. In the meantime, they only advice the dealer had was to unplug the iPod every time I park the truck...
It's a vibration damper. It's supposed to keep the brakes from chattering. Not sure if it is really that effective. It has to be removed when servicing the brakes. If you pop out the plug on the back you can remove it with a torx.
He's right, you know. A shorter rod just means the piston starts lower in the block and stops lower. The distance it travels is the stroke and is only controlled by the crank.
