Got the rear lower bolt off… found it much harder than the upper rear one to be honest. Got it with a combination of 1/4” & 3/8” fittings. The lower one with 3/8”.
I tried going from the drivers side after trying from the front for ages, tearing my right arm up and shouting f@ck! At least four...
Great write up… I’m currently trying to get the supercharger u-bend rear bolt loosened off… sounds like you were lying perpendicular to the motor?
I can barely get my right arm in…. it’s a nightmare setup. Fingers crossed for me.
More drift sand at the beach potentially… but overkill for that type of stuff. Would work well in the big dunes but not really needed. Running Yokohama Geolandar G015’s, at 14/12psi F/R today. Plenty grip/go/float.
Would be cool to try… but this is where you would really need a full scoop. Some run them, some don’t.
Moreeb Dune Climb
Could do that other stuff at half pressure… ;)
Aye, same… mostly just slotting between 1st/2nd on the auto box shifter. Off-road on, advanced track off, locked in first or second. Manual and the buttons on longer open stretches.
Just don’t forget to put it in 4High or turn off advanced track…. get further in 2WD with the electronics off. :)
Never seen them on road cars… only hillclimb monsters. They do make them that big though. Massive advantage in soft sand, really is an earth mover. Some buggies/ATVs run them, some but not so many bikes.
The guys I know prefer the MX knobbly-scoop hybrid tyres used at sand/mud tracks. They’re...
Aye. It’s in its element for that type of driving… it’s not easy, was bricking it at times with the size of some of the dunes… but the power is something else. Gives you a lot more confidence and options. Still could be doing with a lift…
The refusal, I was dug in on the face so it was easy to...
Out having some fun in the big dunes today… big like we’d hit on the bikes. :rockit:
The fast flowing stuff and big horsepower climbs are where this thing excels. Only one refusal, brute power picking out one of the tricky crestings wasn’t the answer, especially as the fourth vehicle. Just spun...
Better day today… big dune surfing, nice firm sand with the wind and lots of cross/side cresting. Flowing drive much better suited to the Raptor’s strengths, fun and terrifying at same time. :p
No stucks, one refusal where brute force wasn’t the answer trying to break over a couple of choppy...
Cheers bud. The little Pajero is close to a ton lighter and about half the length (as well as being oddly higher off the ground), so will take some getting used to.
Tempted to take the Pajero tomorrow… but the power, the noise of the Raptor is intoxicating. The AC seats may seal it though...
Sorry to keep you waiting... had family over visiting and not had time to come back on. Catching up with forum stuff as they've all left and I've got a TPMS issue on the mrs Edge. Not going to reply to all the points, just quoting the most relevant/rude/abusive ones... :anitoof: and multi quote...
14psi as we were four up and going to be doing side cresting. I don’t use the recovery boards, they’re not needed when you’re in a convoy. It’s often easier to just snatch or winch from either side (which is what we were setting up for).
This… my other car runs a centre differential with 33:67 F:R split which; ramps to 50:50 when the rear spins; or can be locked 50:50 on the fly up to 100kph.
With only having a transfer case (but no centre diff) and no way of locking it, the power will always go to the path of least resistance...
Anyone ever tried going into 2WD and locking the rear diff to reverse out of a similar situation, to compensate for the lack of locking centre differential?
Caught slipping a little late in the drive but fairly certain I could’ve reversed my Pajero out of that with the centre and rear diffs...
They got back to me, moving forward again... place is called Seher Flags and Flagpoles Trading LLC:

I found a place in Al Quoz and just remembered they were supposted to send them to me via courier... too much festive fun, forgot all about it. :shakehead:
No worries... was enjoying it plenty myself... didn't do much driving though! :drink_nl: aye, thing is a beast in the dunes... sounds amazing too. Know what you mean about the suspension, same on the bike, not one do it all setting, all windows... desert setup is hard, rattle your teeth out on...
Is it easy enough to pull the front wheel well liner out to get access to the lower plugs? Saw stuff about going in the letterbox with X,Y,Z but I’d rather just take the liner out… was easy enough on the mrs Edge Sport to get at the power steering pump.
