Return your MPT tunes (glad I did a couple months ago!) and just bite the bullet and get Whipple.
A huge group purchase went through and over 45 people on the forums bought it. No one has had any issues that weren't already resolved and Whipple themselves reply and provide great info on the...
Just bit the bullet and put in some water wetter
My truck literally shoots ice cubes out the tail pipes now!
Thanks for the heads up on that man... There's literally frost on my exhaust tips now. Opening the hood is like opening the the door of the freezer in the ice cream section of a...
Additives suck.
I've always done cooler Tstat on boosted and tuned vehicles and it will always make your motor run cooler. It's simple, it allows full cooling by opening the thermostat at a lower temp, and your e-fans can be programmed in the tune to turn on sooner- maybe in Forscan too.
It's...
While you can use Water Wetter and think it's actually doing anything other than making your truck run a couple degrees cooler.. which won't do anything.... Do it the right way if you want a cooler running truck.
Buy this cheap thermostat and your truck will run cooler, period. Easy to do as...
Figured so.
In my opinion, another reason I'm glad I went with Whipple and sent back my MPT tune.
Grabbing popcorn and waiting for Guy's response here. He gets all fired up when it comes to defending MPT lol
What aren't you getting?
The lower thermostat opens at a lower temp and allows the motor to run cooler.
The fans kick in sooner to force more air through the radiator much sooner than stock
You know, resulting in lower temps overall.
For someone who comes off as the self proclaimed "king...
You should put some ice cubes in your radiator fluid too, I heard it lowers temps as well.
In all honesty, if you want a cooler running truck - get a 170-180F thermostat and have your tune adjusted so it kicks on the eFans sooner... Not some water wetter crap that only makes a couple degrees...
I bet the Ford engineers are thankful right now, this whole time after engineering a cooling system for our trucks they didn't know how to solve the over heating problem that plagues 1 in a million trucks... By simply adding a bottle of Water Wetter from Pep Boys into the antifreeze mix.
Who...
That's funny, I was driving my truck in over 100F+ temps a few months ago and it never went over 210-215 - because the thermostat regulates temps and the radiator and water pump was working fine.
I also towed a CanAm 4 seater for 5 hours in 90+ heat and temps never went over 215 at any point.
I'm just laughing here because these are trucks, that don't go on race tracks and run WOT for long periods of time... Any additives won't make a single difference. Even if they change anything by a few degrees will never matter - because the trucks will run fine and are not driven in any way...
The guy above was launching it in 25* degree temps. Stock it would probably do that too lol
The tires when cold have no traction, the asphalt is cold, and the intake air temps are super low.
With my Whipple tune I spun my 37s in 4A through first gear in 85* temps here in SoCal.
I'm used to fast shifting dual clutch setups in my other cars, and I'm really impressed with the 10 spd slushbox of the Gen2. It's very quick and shifts perfectly to me since my Whipple tune. I'd assume they are similar in trans tuning? Either way stock was a little too soft and slushy to me...
