I'm trying to deconflict your report that you didn't need a new pickup tube, and Bajafred's report that his original pickup tube hit the pan.
I ordered the #LK4Z6622A pickup tube off a 2018 VIN just in case.
Now the hard part is getting the dealer to try and swap these parts on while they...
Sorry, I'm not following. Are the part numbers for pickup tube the same plastic vs. metal pan -- but when you ordered with a 2018 you got a different part?
I guess I'm just looking for a list of PNs for the conversion.
I have the metal oil pan already, looking for extra bits.
Thanks!
Darin, I know you're doing a lot already, but would you mind posting a # for the hotline and specific talking points we should cover? Happy to call, just want to make sure it doesn't get filed away in "generic complaints".
Thanks!
edit: found the phone # from earlier post 1-800-396-3673
Hey Darin, thanks for all the research. I was firmly in the camp of "my truck doesn't do this" but I wasn't reading your posts closely enough.
I basically always take long offramps/hills/etc at higher RPMs/high throttle.
If I do the 30-40% load (e.g. keep truck in gear) and accelerate up a...
I went to a local 4x4 park and did lots of obstacles/flexing/bouncing around and some spirited pothole crashing... mostly low speed <20mph, but I kept checking for movement/damage of the cap. Nothing I could notice!
Sorry to see damage -- I also have a Snugtop (big window version), but had them include the "sportsman package" for reinforcements. I haven't done any major offroading with it but I'll take a look if there's any damage to mine.
I've had this stutter happen 1 time with ~2000 miles on truck. (now ~7800 and haven't seen again).
I replaced plugs at 7500 miles and they looked like this. (looks good to me? maybe a smidge rich) All gapped at 30 from factory.
Looks great! My only comment is that in my experience the bumpstop solutions only ride poorly when you have the trailer disconnected... when you're loaded up it's fine. (And I don't even have the long versions) ~10mins to swap the extensions hasn't annoyed me yet.
But on the flip side, with a...
So far so good! Roomier than the standard offroad teardrops (has a bunk bed setup for the kiddos) but I can still see over the fenders with the Raptor side mirrors.
Worst part was 90+ day delay by the builder so we missed most of the 2017 season but looking forward to next year.
I ran a 12v always hot lead up to the upfitters per the youtube video. Works great. You can do switches 1-4 or 5&6 as always on. (I did 5&6 for camper shell dome light/outlets)
you can make the upfitters hot all the time by running a 12v line off the passenger footwell fusebox, through ceiling, and into upfitter space.
There's a youtube video I followed with success. Sounds like a PITA but not really that bad.
Make sure you're not running 50PSI in rear tires. I like 36-38 cold all around.
If you really want go get rid of the real lightness feeling, the Deaver progressive leaf springs I added seemed to do the trick.
I've got ~1000 miles on an RPG bumpstop kit and +3 deavers. Very happy with it.
The +3 Deavers eliminated the sag from my 250lbs camper shell, (basically back to factory rear height) and drive better than factory over rough road.
I raised the front ~1" (SVC CAS) for a ~.5" rake (higher in...
Hah, they came to see *my* raptor, not the other way around. ;)
But seriously, don't be dumb -- this is the internet. Meet people at a coffee shop or some other public place.
This may sound crazy -- but can I disable XM/FM/AM? I pretty much only use Airplay/Bluetooth for audio and it keeps kicking back on with super loud radio I don't want to hear as default.
I see a bunch of stuff in ACM: 727-01-01 but not sure if that's what I'm looking for.
Thanks!
