Why is ford raptor 2019 seats ventilated?

I realize this may be an apples and oranges thing, but my 2018 Raptor has "cooled" seats, my wifes 2018 Lincoln has "ventilated" seats. I can't tell a difference in performance, besides the fact her seats might be a bit quieter. Her ventilated seats definitely blow cold air, just like the...

how many gallons have you put in?

35.8 gallons (135.5 liters), $143.16 USD, and the computer said I had 9 miles to empty. Normally I don't let it get below 1/4 tank, but I was intentionally getting the tank as close to empty as I could. T!

    GEN 2 Etis shows my 2019 Raptor with a 3.9L V8??

Even if true, I bet not before 2021. That would make the V6 Gen 2 a 4 year, and 2 upgrade, model, pretty common. Then they could probably run the Gen 2 for 3 or 4 more years before having to do a major update, including body. Now, will it get such a V8? I don't really think so, but would be...

    metal oil pan

My March 02, 2018 build is metal panned. I think the cut over date is 2/26/18, but that comes from a parts list, not anything more official. Here is a thread (I think the first one on the subject) I started when I found mine was metal...

GEN 2 Online resource for how to dismantle interior or documentation?

For me I did not have to pull the headliner for anything. I pulled the overhead console, just pull on it, it is held only by clips, but pretty strong clips and a number of them, so it is pretty secure. Once I had that and the A pillar cover off (remove two bolts at either end of the A pillar...

    2019 oil pan

The transition build date is about Feb 26, 2018. My very early March, 2018, build date Raptor has the metal pan and normal plug. T!

GEN 2 2018 SCREW long distance trip report with MPG

Follow up on this. I have filled up 3 times since then, in about 1100 miles. The MPG indication has been within 0.2 MPG (low) of the calculated value all three times. This is an excellent change to make, and easy to do. I can now believe my MPG indication, instead of assuming it is at least...

Sync 3 Update Via USB Issues

^^^^this I was absolutely sure it was not working, doing nothing at all. But the third time I did it I walked away to do something, forgot about it, and when I came back 40 minutes later it was done. I simply was not waiting long enough on the previous attempts. T!

GEN 2 2018 SCREW long distance trip report with MPG

That is a real possibility. What do you think the chances are there are two configured like that? ;) When did you see it? T!

GEN 2 2018 SCREW long distance trip report with MPG

Most of them are for ham radio applications. One is for a police/fire/emergency services scanner. The ham radio gear allows communications in areas where no other forms (except sat phone, intermittently) work. I have a bad habit of going off-roading in our local area (the high desert of CA)...

GEN 2 2018 SCREW long distance trip report with MPG

Excellent, thanks for the information on Engineering Test Mode. I was able to get into it first try and set my AFE bias. Now the Trip B MPG indicated matches exactly what I achieved over the ~5950 mile trip. I will have to see how that carries forward. As for pics of my radio install...

    Spare as a permanent replacement

Yes, you absolutely can use the spare as a permanent replacement. The only reason it is marked "spare only" is because it has no TPMS. Many people mount a TPMS to the spare and include it in their regular tire rotation. T!

GEN 2 2018 SCREW long distance trip report with MPG

My wife and I just got back from a reasonably long distance road trip, the first long trip (over 600 miles total) we have taken in our 2018 SCREW. This was 3 weeks and 5948.5 miles total, covering (at least touching) CA, AZ, NV, NM, TX, OK, CO, KS, MO, NE, SD, IA, WY, and UT. We hit many of...

    GEN 2 PRNDM console lights

It seems very likely that there is not supposed to be anything there. It appears this might be a factory change from many months back, an intentional change. It is really unlikely that as many as have been made sans lights, for as long as it has gone on, would not be an accident. Essentially...

    Gear lights disappeared

Yes, look at the quote I included in my post. I was quoting, and responding to, jocmdm, and he was talking about the other issue, the lights beside the shift lever on the console. As I said in my response, that particular issue has been covered in other threads extensively. T!

    Gear lights disappeared

This is covered in another thread extensively. It is not a Gen 1 / Gen 2 thing, but rather a trim level and date of production thing. Some Gen 2's have/had this illumination as well, and up to a certain date it appears to have been tied to trim levels or options, some trim levels/option...

    Gen 2 Gas Millage

I am thinking that 90 MPH indicated, several pounds of boost on, and cruise set at 88 has a bit to do with it. If his 25 MPH headwind is not a joke then yep, that is about what I would get also. Head winds kill the MPG on this truck, it is obviously about as aerodynamic as a sheet of plywood...

Sports Car Owners: Do You Think The Truck is Quick?

Yeah, I have seen that video. I see this as a sample set of one (each), and subject to question until more information is known. I am not saying they are wrong, I just would like to see someone else repeat the results. In that test, for a single measured run of each truck, they get a 6.5 sec...

Sports Car Owners: Do You Think The Truck is Quick?

Don’t take any of this as a slam on your post, it is not, this is just for discussion. This is exactly what I mean by we are jaded today in regards to vehicle performance. And just because the Raptor does not accelerate like your specific sports car does not mean it does not accelerate like...

Sports Car Owners: Do You Think The Truck is Quick?

Really a subjective question. The basic answer is yes, for a truck it is quick, even for a few year old "sports car" it is reasonably quick. Can it compare to 350+ HP in a 2500 lbs lighter modern vehicle? No. What is a sports car? I own over a dozen sports cars, and my 2018 SCREW is...

    DIY Tire Rotation (TPMS problems?)

March build 2018 SCREW. Just did my first tire rotation (and second oil change) at 6000 miles, and I had kept an eye on these threads since I knew this was coming up. I have 6 tires, all with TPMS. The plan is to rotate them all in and out, however this first rotation was only the tires on...

GEN 2 2018 SCrew mileage question

If my experience is any indicator, then yes, it absolutely can be right. First thing I have noticed is the trip computer calculated mileage tends to be a bit long. Mine may indicate 18 MPG when the reality is more like 17 or a tad less. Or if it shows 15.5 I am someplace in the high 14’s...

    GEN 2 Auto Start/Stop glitch?

Inconceivable! OK. I assumed that it defaulted to no gear numbers shown because when I first got in my 802A Raptor (as far as I know never driven, other than on and off the transporter) it had no gear numbers shown until I hit the up lever, then 1-10 showed up. And then when I got a new...

    GEN 2 Auto Start/Stop glitch?

Are we sure this is a bug? In my mind it works the way it is supposed to. In auto it defaults to no gear numbers shown, just like many transmisisons / vehicles. But tap the Up in Drive and all ten gears are displayed, with the current gear in Orange (and that is my default setting). Don't...
