Where was the control module manufacturered? China? Do you know if any of the wiring or componets inside of it or amongst the rest of the wiring become frayed / exposed / shorted out /etc ?

If you're gonna swap it out, definitely get one that has a drain (and fill - duh) plug - it will make future rear diff fluid drain/fills easy as pie !

FWIW - There used to be reps from Ford Service (even if they were just generic customer service reps who acted as an intermediary IIRC) who DID converse with forum members here on our msg board. Think they went away and moved to one of the other platforms (Twitter?) at some point, well before...

I realize you mentioned you were looking for a bed mounted solution, but have you considered the older Ford Racing "Tire Gate" perhaps ? Here's a thread about it (can easily find more via a msg board search, etc) in case you never considered it as an alternative...

If those are the originals on the truck, you're due for a rebuild at that mileage FYI. Could go that route or potentially even splurge for upgraded ones if you are so inclined. Can search around the msg board for options/choices/rebuild info, etc - g'luck deciding !

What's your air intake tract look like (aftermarket CAI or condition of air filter/box - open element filter sitting inside of engine bay possibly) ?

Like the other guys said - have the tires re-balanced but check your air pressure first to make sure that isn't the culprit. Is the problem only noticeable at a certain MPH on the road or does it vary with speed? Were the tires installed at a national tire chain store or a local shop ? If the...
