Still trucking along... Changed the oil yesterday. Rear pumpkin gear oil drain/fill last Sat as well (was a breeze w/ that LPW diff cover I installed a couple of years ago).
Please make them stop with all of the Magic Creeper or Dustless Blasting commercials - seems like those are the only products funding those automotive shows. LOL
Probably gotta wait for the air brakes to build pressure... LOL

It wouldn't hurt to have an independent shop/mechanic give it a look prior to purchase just to make sure there are no "surprises" if you aren't comfortable checking it out yourself...g'luck !

You could have used the Gen 1 "general section" sub-forum since there's no specific "transmission" sub-forum under the Gen 1 area of the msg board, but this new member section you posted in as good as any for the time being (a mod could possibly move the thread for you if...
Def some type of overspray (aftermarket application - these trucks sure didn't look like that when they left the factory); someone was lazy and didn't properly mask off those areas but that shouldn't be a deal breaker on a potential purpose.
With that being a MN truck though, I think the better...
Sounds like you need some further clarification from the service advisor - did they mention anything about how they were replacing the engine (long block / short block) or what specific part(s) they were waiting on (perhaps waiting on a back-ordered / delayed part) ?
^ Passenger side PCV catch cans will usually collect a decent amount of oil in between oil changes IMHO; I had about the same amount in mine just prior to my last oil change (guess it depends on the mileage as well, YMMV).
Post up a pic of your setup, maybe a hose is kinked (?) or the design...

So the load / piece of machinery was 9 feet tall and weighed about 2000 lbs, correct ? Got a pic of WHERE it was positioned on the trailer (for all of the "land based" loadmaster experts out there LOL) ?
Perhaps the load (depending on its surface area; got a pic ?) was "creating" a large...
