Drive it, don't put it away in storage. IMHO, it's not gonna appreciate in value like some of the highly sought after old 60s muscle cars (way too high production numbers on these trucks ~10,000 units per year IIRC). MAYBE a zero mile Special Edition Raptor might have a chance in a few decades...

Why not tap the existing pan for the aftermarket temp gauge bung? Properly, of course - to prevent any metal shavings from contaminating the fluid...

OP - How many miles (approx) was it towed for btw ?

That sounds odd, I only get the "indexing" message after I plug in a USB drive into the center console slots. You're saying that your system displays the "indexing" message all the time? You're not removing/plugging in a USB drive each time you get in the truck are you? Have you tried...
