I went with the S2's and just installed them today. Similar ground point. Wish the up fitter wiring was a bit longer. I had to pull the battery to find them and to add quick connects to them for when my 3 pairs of fogs come in.
If it does end up with the same powerplant as the 500, I can tell you the MPG is going to be well below double digits. I have a 21 500 and while I don't ***** it around, even moderate driving yields 11ish mpg. Now pile that in a truck that weighs a bunch more.
The GT500 is such a Swiss army knife. Fantastic track car or incredibly easy to adjust to a drag car. On top of that it drives like a dream in regular world driving.
Honestly, it won't matter if you turn anything off (if you can find it) or not. Anytime you throw a tune on there the flash count is recorded. The second they hook the scanner up to your truck for anything it'll show up.
Good point. I guess I spelled customer wrong. Just throwing money away.
I'm all for dealers keeping loyal customers. I ended up with a 21 Raptor and a 21 GT500 within 2 months of each other thanks to that kind of relationship.
My GEN3 feels like my GEN2 with the MPT 91 tune (CO doesn't get 93). Except it doesn't have the harsh trans calibration that the MPT ended up with (at least on my truck). I can't wait to see what you guys do. I'll be buying it as soon as you have it done.
Ps. You should take a crack at the 2021...
Picked up my 6/15 order today. Fit and finish is not exactly, as they say, ideal. 2 out of the 4 fender flares are about 1/2 inch away from the fenders. Red stripe on the steering wheel is crooked and 1/2 inch to the right. Tonneau cover is scratched in multiple places (could have been a dealer...
I'm on the fence between the Duratrac ( which I had on my Tundra and got quite loud) and the KO2 that came on the truck. I'm in Colorado and do a ton of snow driving, along with moderate dirt stuff. Still not sure which way to go.
This is exactly what MPT told me. They resent me my stock file, told me to call them from the dealer if the dealer still couldn't access the PCM. I haven't had a chance to go back yet.
Ngauge will keep your stock tune on the device for easy flashing. I had to download it and send to MPT to get the original tunes. They sent it back.
The funny thing in all of this is that I've flashed back to stock for a transmission update from ford with no issue. This time, flashed back to...
I flashed the stock file back to my truck so the dealer could fix a 360 camera issue. Apparently they have to access the PCM to do it. None of their methods worked. They all time out and/or fail due to "encryption".
MPT says this shouldn't happen. Anyone have a similar issue? Dealer knows my...
Any flashes to the ECU register. You've always been able to revert back to stock with the Accessport, same as you can with the NGauge. If the dealer wants to, they can absolutely see the flash count showing that the ECU has been flashed at some point.
