You're in the audio section.
And your info about no upgrades without a tear down isn't remotely accurate according to a number of installers (in this forum) and a few pro's locally I've talked to. You can upgrade bits and pieces without going full tear down. Full replacement is by far the way...
Give me a few. I'll be home shortly. Basically it went from the back right corner being wrinkled and loose to the whole front being wrinkled. Maybe I'm being picky but I feel like both seats should match.
My drivers seat leather cover was loose where the base connects to the back support. Wrinkled and not held down well. Passenger side was perfect. Took it in and they ordered a seat cover. They re-did it and now it's even worse than when it arrived. Service manager said "well, that's what happens...
Not sure where the confusion is on all of this but they came back at 7k for doors/tweeters/sun/box/interface/amp and some sound deadening.
Either way, overkill for me and way over the 4-5k I budgeted.
I ran into cupping and tire noise issues with the last set of Duratracs I bought. Rotated and aligned correctly. I might give them a shot again. Sounds like you and I aren't far apart.
Upgrading wheels on my Gen 3 and looking for a true 35" (vs going 37") which will see a good amount of snow. I live in CO. I would love a more aggressive looking tire too. I'm putting on 1.5" RPG collars and they're going on a 17x9" wheel with a +1 offset.
Thanks!
I think a better sub would allow me to take out some bass from the stock doors/tweeters/mids and be even happier with a stock system. I think I'm going to start with a sub update and see where it goes. I took it to my usual go-to shop and they quoted me around 7 for Focal's, behind seat box, 10"...
The issue with the under seat box is that there's the power inverter there. I'm trying to figure out how to upgrade everything and that's one of my sub problems.
I ordered my 21 from Phil Long Chapel Hills and it delivered 10/2. MSRP. No pressure to add anything on on their end. They actually found me financing that was basically free money (I had planned to pay cash) that wasn't their in house financing. I'll be a customer for life after that experience.
I also had about 70k on my gen 2 with the MPT tune and loved it. Mine consistently developed a hard 1-2 shift after a number of miles but a re-flash would fix it (resets the trans learning). Never could figure that out.
My 21 has a much better factory tune all around. Can't wait to put an MPT...
I'm messing with you. I get it. Built and installed a TON of audio systems over the years. Just having some fun with you.
I'm working on building my system for my 2021 now. Trying to figure out how to keep some of the extra speakers and make them sound good vs. killing them off.
