I would be ticked off if they told me I wasted $500 for a tune they sold me that wouldn’t load. They should have taken care of you in that. They could have refunded at least 1/2 of the cost after you purchased another one. That’s poor customer service. Yes, they respond to emails quickly. I...
It might be nice dealing with a place that has multiple tuners. If something happened to Jim Sr, I don’t know what would happen to JDM. Looks like someone else there should learn the skill.
I got a revised tune from them last Monday evening. Since then, I have put somewhere in the neighborhood of 400-500 miles on it. Seems that they have fixed the issues. The trans is holding each gear a good bit longer between shifts, which makes it so much more fun to drive. Now, when in 5th, it...
I am still waiting on JDM to get me a revised tune. Haven’t driven the truck in 2 weeks. Spoke to Nick there yesterday. Was suppose to have had the tune at the first of the week. Hopefully it happens real soon.
Landon T,
Did your shop get your leak sourced and fixed?
Here’s what mine looks like. I didn’t have it showing afr for this pic. Works very well. You can monitor a lot of different things with it and have the display rotate through several parameters every so many seconds.
2- Morimoto Evox-r 2.0 projectors - New In the Box- $90 ($120 online)
1- box Retrorubber Butyl resealing glue - New in Box- $12 ($17 online)
I bought this back in the early winter, with plans to upgrade my OEM hid’s. The Morimoto projectors are said to have a better spread of useable light...
Not that many since it isn’t a daily driver. The stock-like throttle response made me not want to drive it much.
It’s been tuned ever since new. I’ve been use to quick- almost touchy throttle response and trans tuning that downshifts it like it’s a manual. They said they have the tune geared...
I think it’ll be more in line with what I was expecting when JDM gets me the revised tune. It should have much better throttle response and hold each gear longer from 4-6th. But yes, it is a large, heavy truck with power-sucking tires/wheels.
Been emailing JDM back and forth and they’re going to adjust the shifting and throttle response. They said they make it pretty mild now after a lot of customers thought it was too much. Just waiting on them to get it revised.
Here’s a couple pics of my truck. Not a Raptor and not trying to...
Good to know thanks!
Drove truck more today and got into it a little. Honestly, I’m not that impressed with the power. I was expecting a lot more and better throttle response. Seems that you have to out your foot through the floor to see anything. The throttle response is very slow and...
In regards to the spark plug hole that was stubborn, I ran a thread chaser caked in grease down through it. Wiped the hole out and seemed to have taken care of the problem. Very few little metal fragments. I think the threads were just really nasty with rust, carbon, etc. Just thankful that the...
That’s a good idea! Do you know if anyone makes a relocation plate? I may have to get someone to fab one up. It looks to have room below the h/e near the large opening in the bumper.
Another question for you Aeroforce guys. I completed my setup today and selected Platform 4. Which parameter do you use to monitor A/F ratio? Not sure which one to use.
What does your IAT2 temp usually run?
Drove truck today into town. It’s about 20-30 mile round trip. Took it easy, but man does that blower whine. Not 100% loving the tune. All my previous tunes have been setup to hold gears longer than stock. Usually it won’t shift into 6th until I’m between 50-55mph. Keeps the tranny happier on...
JDM advises to use the oem thermostat and said that’s what they have their tune setup around.
I’m gonna take it out today for a short trip, so I’ll see what it does. Just after a few minutes of idling down my road last night, I noticed the reservoir tank level had dropped about 1”, so I...
Got it fired up tonight. Sounds awesome under the hood! Just easing into the throttle while in park sounds good. My coolant temp came up to normal after a few minutes, however, it took forever for heat to start coming from the vents. I turned the defrost on to help circulate the coolant...
The pump hose seemed to be ok and fit for me. I believe it was still 5/8”, however, I used an Afco h/e and connected it to their 3/4” hose with a supplied 3/4”x5/8” connector by Afco. Got lucky on that one.
I did notice later in the install that they shorted me a few washers. I didn’t have any...
It is all finished up except for final topping off of the coolants. Updated my SCT X4 last night since it hadn’t been done in a couple years. So I still have to load the tune and install my Aeroforce gauge, but all easy stuff compared to what I’ve been doing. I guess I need to go ahead and...
