I am gearing up for another run from KC to Boulder and back tomorrow. Someone had mentioned a sweet spot for Gen2 Raptors mpg at 75mph. Above that the EcoBoost starts loosing efficiency against the aerodynamics of the truck and mpg degrades.
Where IS the sweet spot? 75, 80, 85? I usually...
They just released the version that has the backup trailer assist slot. I have been waiting for about 18 months - Covid delays.
Ron at California Pony Car was a big help. They are cranking out some of these now. I may have the first one installed!
Ron is at 909-923-2357.
Got my shipment of dash vents and gauge cluster trim pieces on Friday. Wow, these guys are good and these trim peices are beautiful - fit and finish is excellent.
Installed everything today, pictures to follow.
BTW - before anyone asked, this mod shaved .5 off my 1/4 mile.
I picked up a Rhino USA digital tire inflator with pressure gauge for my air compressor. I just carry it in my truck with a quick release connector for the compressor. Let’s me subtract or add air and has a digital readout to get pretty accurate pressure. Plus it clips easily on the Raptor...
On my second bakflip. Started on my 2013 f150 and moved it my 2018 Raptor. Replaced first one due to hail damage in 2019. No reason for anything else.
Love the look of the Diamondback - price kept me away.
I admit that’s pretty damn funny but sometimes I think people post questions because they respect the advice of others in this forum. Many of us have bought gadgets and crap off the internet and learned valuable lessons through mistakes. Chalk me up for several.
Just do an Autotrader or other used car search on 2015-2019 F-150s over 200k miles. Tons of really high mileage examples out there. They got to 200k plus miles somehow! Saw a 2016 over 300k miles - that’s a bunch in 7-8 years.
I was in Dallas a few weeks and was pleasantly surprised by all the Raptors I saw there - tons of them. I just figured the further west you went from Dallas every dude had a Tremor or Raptor or F150 dually to haul cattle.
You probably have plenty of options down there!
Yeah, this one is interesting. So far dude bought a $100k truck on a whim in a color he doesn’t like and will trade with another Raptor enthusiast on the internet BUT can’t operate the internet to post a pic.
That about sum it up?
I have the same setup on my Gen2. I added amber covers (chase light type setup) and I discovered the yellow light gives a better nighttime pic on the backup camera without diminishing the overall light output.
They do look very cool. My question above was half-serious, I am curious what he does that he needs that setup? Or is it all for looks? I have been out in the middle of nowhere on country roads/trails and my BD basic set is just fine. I suppose if I was hauling ass I might need to see out...
