Same here - I have been through a couple rounds of phasers (original replaced with rev1 parts and second time with new and improved rev2 parts).
That sounds different to me. More than just a rattle…
Several great dealers here in KC if you can drive over. Metro Ford and Midway Ford Truck Center...
Check out California Pony Car and their CF parts. I went with the whole shebang. Quality is very very good and Ron was great to work with. They do NOT have the shifter.
A couple other folks on the forum tried Carbon Cartel and others and had bad experiences. I can’t speak for them, but when...
I did a search of "brake life" on the forum, nothing really popped up (I am skeptical this topic is new) so point to a thread on this if it exist...
I am at 74,900 miles - just had a check-up at my dealership. I always ask about the brakes, figure I have to be close to at least a new set of...
It’s a truck! 400lbs concrete. 600lbs yesterday. Barely sagged. Also notice it’s all at the tailgate - I am too old and lazy to stack it over the axle.
I was the OP on the linked thread above. I have not had the smell at all this summer, here is what I did:
1. Swapped out to a K&N reusable filter. I bought the kit with the cleaning spray
2. Hand wash - I stopped using the automatic car wash.
3. If I park outside and it’s possible, I crack...
So I actually got a chance to drive a 2022 Lightning this morning. A good friend owns a dealership, has a "mannequin" base model for demos.
My summary:
1. Holy Sh#% the "instant" forward motion and leap off the line is scary (neck-snapping)
2. It is so so quiet - opposite of my Raptor...
Your numbers seem spot on. I tried 87 vs 91 over a decent period of time (did it twice) and experienced 15.8mpg on 87 and 16.1 on 91. Very unscientific but I am consistent on how I drive (not much leadfoot) and blend fairly equal city and highway miles.
Do you have a link or a pic? My MX4 is actually a Ford branded Bakflip. It even has a Ford logo on it, but it is a Bakflip. For $1695 yours must be something different, I think Ford gets around $1200 for their Bakflip.
I just had to order a few of these from Ford. About $3 apiece so agree with comment to throw in glove box for future use. Blue is different, must be a gen3 upgrade! I have only seen white on gen 2s. Must be a super high tech polymer (ha ha).
PS - it’s called a fetzer valve.
I do I-70 between Denver and KC a lot. Watch tire pressure - It can go up 5-6lbs in CO and over 40 psi coming out of Eastern CO the rear end will bounce like crazy (yours and the truck’s). Roads out there in windmill country are washboards.
I leave KC at 35F 33R and it’s not unusual to be...
Doc Mike - the sunroof drain hoses run down the pillar behind the rear windows. It wouldn’t get water to the doors, but it does fill the door sills and you will hear sloshing. Easy to check that too, pull the plastic door sills and check.
If you have water in the sills too check to make sure...
I think I had the same problem as you - I could literally hear water sloshing when I start and stop after a heavy rain. The water was in the door sills (pull the plastic up and you can see the wire harnesses sitting in the channel full of water).
Mine is a 2018 too. The problem was the drain...
If you are not a troll, post the VIN of the crappy Raptor you traded in. Pretty easy to check an Oasis report for the 3 rebuilds.
I agree with FordTechOne about the “rebuilds” - I had my engine replaced at 47k and they basically replaced the whole thing - long block, turbos, and most of the...
One more comment, 73db seems a bit high to me for new Gen3 as you posted above. For normal exhaust modes etc I would expect maybe 65-68db??? The difference between 65db and 75db is a lot.
My 2018 was reading 75db at 70mph on BFG K02s at 46k miles. It dropped to about 68db when I got new Nitto Ridge Grapplers.
I took a couple of reference points, same road and speed:
Basic 2020 F150 on Goodyear Wranglers with 22k miles = 64db
2020 Ford Explorer (new) 62db (don’t know exact tire...
As others mentioned, it’s hard to qualify “loud” without being in the truck.
Grab a db meter app, test it on a normal highway at 60mph and maybe let us know how it reads. Hold phone near your ears for listener placement.
1,360 miles in 26 hours round trip. 16.4mpg avg with cruise set at 80mph most of the time. Tires gained 6 to 7lbs between KC and Boulder. That surprised me.
Yeah, I am thinking the same thing. I estimate it like this (average with wind)...
65mph = 18mpg+
70mph = 17mpg
80mph = 15mpg
90mph = 13mpg
So the difference for my 600 mile trip between 70mph and 80mph is basically 1 hour in time. The fuel savings by going 70mph is maybe $20. Is my 1 hour...
