We are 3 years in on this post, and I think I have finally conquered the problem. I haven't had the A/C startup smell since I stopped using automatic drive-thru car washes. I think the water was getting blasted down into my vents from the overhead sprayers.
Anyway, I have gone this entire...
I just replaced a set of Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my 2018 Gen2. I cannot give higher praise - 58K miles and they still looked like they could go another 10k. I am in rain, snow and ice here in Missouri, never ever had ANY issues with traction. They did get noisy after 40K miles and it got...
My guess is the “simulation” has some type of “toughness” variable programmed in for each model. Jeep would be high, as would F150. No idea why Dodge Ram burst into flames though. They aren’t a Pinto.
Sorry if this vid is already posted - didn’t see it anywhere. This came off Instagram. 30mph head on test.
Raptor, Wrangler and Taco did well. Wrangler was a beast and practically laughed at the test. Like the dump truck hit a wall…
TRX goes up in flames…
The double tap at the tailgate button doesn’t work for me. Double tap fob works fine. I am pretty sure I have never had the recall done (as hard as it is to get my dealer to do it, must be a pain).
I suppose the button, or the connection at the button could be bad.
2018 Gen 2 - tailgate release button stopped working. Fob control still works. I replaced the actuator (because it was easy, not necessarily logical). Still no joy.
Trucks been at the dealership 2 days, apparently they think executing the unintended tailgate release recall TSB will fix it. But...
Yeah, I am at 55k on my Ridge Grapplers and no issues at all. At about 45k they started getting loud, about like my original K02s were at 38k.
In other words had great experience with the RGs. Saw Recons on a Raptor and they look great.
I am also curious to see feedback - but I have a few questions too. Somewhat confused about the options available. Tried chatting with Nitto but still confused.
So the Recons seem to come in regular (AT???) and LT versions. Nitto told me both will work on my 2018 Raptor. But I am still not...
2018 Raptor and 2015 JK Willys
Around here (KC) any decent trails are really too small for the Raptor. There’s a 4 wheel park near KC called Kansas Rocks and no way I would take the Raptor there. Trails and switchbacks are simply too tight.
Hoping someone on RF is a horn expert or at least knows a bit about the circuit…
There are 4 contacts on the back of the airbag unit. Bottom two seem to work fine for me, top two - no horn.
In other words, if I push REALLY hard at the bottom of the pad and it works, but nothing if I push on...
Yeah, mine is a long story and I think I posted it somewhere on the forum back in 2021.
Basically, Ford replaced the engine under warranty. New long block, turbos and a bunch of other parts. In my case the truck had a history of issues and I was a persistent MFer. Also helps to have a good...
I ordered it Nov 10th and it arrived Jan 19, so right at 10 weeks. I think he mentioned moving to a different building somewhere during that time so it was probably a few weeks longer than normal.
Got my custom Zen Carbon steering wheel installed this morning. Beautiful work by Zen. I did the heated version and it works great, maybe better than my original wheel.
At 38k miles I went from stock K02s to Grapplers and experienced just the opposite. Noise was obviously better but I also think the handling and smoothness was improved. Handling in snow and rain has been great. No issues.
It’s really not a fair comparison old tire to new tire, but I like the...
The entire “journey” was over the course of a year and about 7k miles on the truck. It was in and out of shops maybe 4 times while they really focused on the cam phasers. It was also 2020 so shops were dealing with sick employees and part shortages. At the time I was simply trying to get the...
From personal experience and a couple years reading this forum, the most important thing right now for you is the dealer. Ford WILL take care of you but the dealer plays a huge role in being your advocate.
I basically got a new engine at 45k miles (long block, turbos, etc), but I had gone...
