Btw - thanks for the link about the airbag problem. That little led component coming loose is probably the culprit. I thought one looks “suspect”. They are very fragile and only held on by tiny solder joints.
It seems to happen after a passenger rides in the truck and gets out of the vehicle. Happened twice this morning.
It seems to happen when a passenger gets out of the vehicle after a trip.
Well, so far the Bluetooth connectivity has been 50/50. With the oem radio, I used a CarPlay dongle it worked great but did require BT and WiFi.
So with the Android screen I did set it up with the BT connection (CarPlay dongle disconnected). That worked sometimes. I just tried clearing the...
I think what @nikhsub1 said still works in a 2018. I have a 2018, and that’s what I have used (Apple dongle) previous to this radio and it worked great.
I might start a thread with FAQs on this radio - not sure the best approach. I have several questions!
There is a thread on the F150 forum...
I have completed the install. Seems to work perfectly, but I have a lot of questions. Lifetime iPhone user, not sure the best way to go about getting the most out if it.
It IS awesome. Love the ability to fine tune the sound with all the equalizer settings and individual gain controls.
I have...
I am getting ready to order the 12.2” for my 2018 Raptor. Got a couple of questions after reading some threads - hope experienced users can help!
1. What’s up with needing the SIM card and a cellular subscription. I use an Apple CarPlay dongle now and it works great. What do I lose if I DON’T...
Just curious, did anyone opt for the smaller 12.1” screen? If so how was the fit? I think I might like the overall fit better, but would like to see a good pick. Website pics are pretty basic.
Also, it looks the 12.1 and the 14.4 are the same performance and features. Can anyone confirm?
Geez, got on this thread as I am due to replace my OEM pads and rotors FIRST TIME at 105k miles. Not sure what I learned here, but pretty sure OEM equipment worked fine for me as I haven’t plowed into anything yet.
I used this thread to potentially (time will tell) solve my Morimoto XB LED "DRL problem" - figured I would post some info for others.
2018 Raptor 802a package
When first installed, my lights worked perfectly for over 6 months until just last week. I started experiencing an intermittent...
@bentonville Nothing new for me - it hasn’t done it since the one occurrence. Next visit to for maintenance I am going to have them look for any leaks.
Well, an update for my truck on this one - no issues since I posted this originally. Truck is behaving normally, no oil smell. Reinforces what FordTechOne advised.
That’s interesting - if It was a cracked valve cover would the leak be fairly obvious? I have gone over the engine best I can with but see no signs of any leaks. Plus it hasn’t had the oil smell in recent days.
I suspect FordTechOne’s explanation may be it.
2018 Gen 2. Just hit 100k miles. Waiting on the wife the other day, well of course she took about 45 minutes longer than planned. Anyway, truck idled for 45 minutes. As we left we got a very strong burnt oil smell. Like oil dripping on exhaust pipe type smell (had those before!). Happened...
Same issue here. Button on tailgate didn’t work, but it worked with fob at least. I started by replacing the actuator, which was dumb in retrospect because it still worked with the fob. Still no joy.
Eventually took it to dealer who said I had a chaffed wire and spliced it back for $200.
Agree, the passenger side seemed harder to fit. It “popped” in and I had to really lean into it pushing the fixture forward while it tightened down the bolts. Gaps seem ok.
Installed smoked Morimoto tail lights on my black Gen 2 today. Here are a couple pics - I had trouble finding any pics of the smoked tail lights on a black Raptor. Pics look shinier than they do in person.
Also installed the Morimoto XB headlights.
Thank you Nick at Apollo Optics for the...
Yeah, I run Nitto Ridge Grapplers and now run Recon Grapplers. Got 60k+ on the Ridge Grapplers and still had good tread left (simply got too loud). Recons are awesome. Never had a single issue in cold weather, snow or ice.
